sorry if this is a dupe, but CNN.com is running a poll asking if mentally ill criminals should be executed. Not surprisingly, it's been thoroughly freeped. Please help unfreep it. This is disgusting.

My in-laws are Southern Baptists who whole heartedly believe in capital punishment and the pro life movement at the same time! When I asked them how that could be, all they said was, "that's just the way Christians believe." Go figure. It is people like that who put the MORON in oxyMORON.

As a former case worker for the mentally ill and developmentally disabled, this disgusts me.

Anyone can call themselves anything, and if there is one constant in human history, it doesn't have to make sense at all.

2. Shows the level of societal dysfunction

that most people would believe it's OK to execute someone who's mentally ill or retarded. After all, we are the only 'civilized' country that still has a death penalty.

I can safely say, If he'd just found Jesus (or at least say that he did) Governor Huckabee (R) would have simply let him out. He does it with other convicted cold blooded criminals.

that ANYONE would actually vote yes, as sick as it makes me that we still execute juveniles, hell as sick as the death penalty itself makes me!
