Serious discussion here.... This is highlighted here at DU and I guess it's supposed to express a New Years gift to those that have been naughty. My concern is..is that it seems Ashcroftian... It's like we had this super secret file on us and now we've been pardoned by our Lords.

Now let me get this straight...I applaud the Admins hard work in taming the wild wild nature of DU...If it was me I would have shot myself long ago..;-) This board is running as smooth as butter because of the new rules and that's because we've got smart er..damn smart Admins and Mods.

Anyway... I'm not sure I had anything to clear but if I did, thanks I guess...

1. I don't think the files were ever super secret.

And when the rules were instituted, we were told that until the new year we'd have a trial period, so we could all get used to the new way. Then everyone would start from scratch and the chips would fall where they may. That's my recollection, anyway.

Admins are doing exactly what they said they were going to do, which was have a trial period up until the end of the year, then start over on Jan 1.

This was never a big secret as to how it was going to work.
