Another day, another allegation against Rowland
More allegations of graft from Connecticut's Republican governor, John Rowland.

New Issue: Rowland Condo Deal
Governor Sold Washington, D.C., Property To Friend For Price Above Market Rate

January 6, 2004
By DAVE ALTIMARI, EDMUND H. MAHONY, And JON LENDER Courant Staff Writers

At a time when similar units in the Washington, D.C., building where Gov. John G. Rowland owned a condominium were selling for as little as $20,000 to $30,000, the governor pulled off something of a coup: He sold his condo in 1997 for $68,500, or 19 percent more than he paid.

But like other good things that have happened to Rowland - from low-cost vacations to renovations at his lakefront cottage - this deal appears to have involved a little help from a friend.

1. It's only a matter of time
He'll be force to resign at some point this year.

As a Connecticut resident, I'll be more than happy to see this lying crook go. The state has GOP fatigue I think and that'll ensure that a Democrat wins the governor's mansion next time around.
