Bush losing jobs by design.

The PNAC blueprint for conquering the ME wouldn't work very well without a large pool of potential recruits to supply the massive military force needed to carry out such an ambitious scheme.

People who have jobs aren't very eager to sign up for wars, especially not very questionable ones. Only the jobless and economically desperate are. And you need plenty of these type of 'volunteers' to serve as cannon fodder in your wars of conquest.

Why not just start a draft? Because people who have jobs and a future will tend to strongly resist any draft effort they may come under.

Hence, deprive them of jobs.

1. And...
-Higher unemployment equals more competition for jobs = low wages.
-Moving jobs to other countries allows corporations to dodge our minimum wage and working conditions legislation.
-Production in other countries can be done with lower costs due to a lack of enviromental regulations.

Reducing jobs is good for Bush's backers.

2. Keep unemployment rate high

deprive the people of jobs as much as possible, or at least good ones.

3. Cheap-labor conservatives, that's what they are
And soldiers are the cheapest labor of all because the people pay their wages.

4. Exactly. I know people who have gotten out of school,
and joined the military 'cause "there's nothing out there"
jobwise. High unemployment suits all of BushCo/PNAC's goals:
force people into the military, have a desperate and docile
workforce, those with jobs can be worked to death with no
extra compensation and work such long hours that they can't
focus on the daily BFEE outrage, there's less income to donate
to progressive orgs (like the ACLU, NAACP, DU, Buzzflash,....)
and progressive political campaigns (Kucinich for example).

On and on. The economy is always bad in Republican administrations.
Tho' this administration isn't so much Republican as radical right.
