Jon Lewis for VP?
It's risky, but would be one hell of a way to mobilize the african american base.

Dean could also confound expectations and go for an African-American running mate, something sources close to his campaign say is already being mulled. In this case, one obvious candidate might be Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, a powerful speaker and legendary veteran of the Civil Rights movement.

Lewis would be a galvanizing figure for African-Americans. But he is also a potent choice with older Americans because of his long battles over Medicare coverage. And -- a factor bound to appeal to Dean -- Lewis was one out of a handful of congressional Democrats who took the same bold and unflinching stand Dean did himself in opposing the Iraq war.

Picking a figure like Lewis could prove highly divisive to the conservative white right. But in a close run race -- which has always been Rove's assessment of what it would turn out to be -- GOP and Dem strategists alike believe victory may go to whoever turns out the vote best within his own political base.

1. I LOVE him.. I have wanted him on a ticket forever
Actually HE should have been the one to become senator..Not Zell Miller..

In reality, even if EVERY black voter voted in the election, it would still probably not matter....remember BBV willl be the defining issue of this election..

Chads were the issue in 2000, and this time around there will be no chads, and no recounts...probably not even any accurate "counts"..

I have little hope of a fair election..This election coming up could end up in the streets.. If that had happened last time, we might have not gotten into the pickle we are in now..:(

2. Once I actually called his office in D.C. from
San Francisco when he held out on a really progressive issue...this was in the Clinton years.
