2. did you really think that it could be stopped ?
the reps have the numerical advantage. the only path is the courts where there could be an attempt to make it more fair. did that a while back, helped a little.

3. Whoa there!!!
Don't concede just yet. 12 Senate Democrats can stop the bill from coming to a vote. Democrats have 10 votes locked up. Local news here in Austin, FOX nonetheless, reports that 1 Republican opposes the current bill, Bill Ratliff from Flower Mound, while 3 Democrats are on the fence. So we either need for Ratliff to hold and one of the Democrats to vote no. Or, if Ratliff jumps ship, 2 of 3 undecided Democrats. We can win this thing, and if not, it will be tied up in the courts at least beyond the 2004 elections.

Even some Republicans are opposing the House bill. At least that's what I heard a few minutes ago on the local news (Austin).

6. well I sure hope this is the case.
we DON"T need anymore disadvantages to DEMS clawing back to a majority in either house. Let's get the whole U.S. informed in the next year and RUN THE TABLE across the houses including WH.
