I currently live in Texas and go to high scool here.
It is difficult to believe that the legislature only meets once every two years, and when they do they pull nothing but s**t.
Next year I will have to deal with the new law mandating pledging allegiance TWICE a day (I guess once just wasn't enough), and mandating 60 seconds to pray. Uh, oh, right, or "reflect on the day". Give me a break. Nice way to run around the constitution.
Then we have the gerrymandering BS. Obviously this has been going on for some time.
I went to Bellville yesterday. (something like population 3000) American Legion and republicans royal. The stores I went in had "Austin County Republican Party" donation jars, FOX news on the TV, flags everwhere, and support Bush signs.
Now I wonder how much influence the population 3000 towns have compared to the MUCH more liberal citys with population X hundred thousand or million. I'm sure it's already not proportional, and I'm glad the democrats have fled once again to help slow the gerrymandering down.
