Gulfport (MS) City Council Condemns Lawrence v. Texas
The Gulfport, Miss., city council has voted 5-1 to condemn the U.S. Supreme Court's overturning of the Texas sodomy law prohibiting gay sex. Councilman Billy Hewes, who introduced the resolution criticizing the high court's decision during Tuesday's council meeting, said the ruling "corrupts the moral fiber of this nation."

Maybe I'm just being pissy here, but don't you think that concerns about the "moral fiber of this nation" would have somewhat more credibility if they did not come from a town that has made gambling the center of its economy?

2. Yep. It's like Oscar Wilde said:
"A virtuous abstinence from the joys of pederasty comes easiest to those who have no taste for it."

I disagree with Wilde about pederasty, but I think his point still stands.
