Have Democrats been driven 'bonkers' by Bush's* "Success"?
Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 09:52 AM by Q

- So says Max Boot of the Neocon Council on Foreign Relations on CSPAN this morning.

- This begs the question: are we 'bonkers' because of Bush's* 'success' or simply pissed that he and others like him are rewriting history to make Bush* appear more successful than he really is?

- Well?

11. He does speak well but does not say a thing.
So half the voters in the US think Bush did well, and the rest think he has done bad along with the rest of the world. Wonder who is right?

21. This was the guy
That wrote that Iraq is a much better situation than Vietnam because we've only lost (at the time) 250 soldiers, while we lost 58,000 in Vietnam. He conveniently left out the fact that we lost nobody the first 18 months we were in Vietnam and that the 58,000 was over 10 years, not 6 months.

2. It drives me bonkers
because I just can't understand their point of view. I see no success - only failure. But, there are some people who actually BELIEVE that he has done a good job and that he is a good president.

4. Mr. Boot is also angry that callers continue to call Bush* a traitor...
...and object to his foreign and domestic policy. He says that if 'Dean can't control his anger' then he'll go down as another McGovern'.

- We see the Republican/Neocon talking points in play every morning on CSPAN's Washington Journal. Don't like Bush* or his policies? According to Mr. Boot you're either angry or 'bonkers'.

He's your typical Neocon thinktank talking head...
...sent out to convince the masses not to believe their own eyes.

- It's amazing...CSPAN has had every Neocon they could find on their network in the past week. I can't believe they're actually providing a platform for these neofascists to give their policies credibility.

19. After that caller called in with his request
He started referring to people that disagree with him as Democrats. Another caller threw him off his game when he asked him if he had served in the military. Just another chickenhawk with a fast talk with little to no substance.
And this last caller that called in is sitting in her chair with her 5 bucks in hand doing nothing. Hypocrites.

6. I'm pissed because he's destroying my country
domestically and internationally. I'm pissed because he doesn't give a rat's patootie about our young men's lives and is willing to fritter them away to strut and puff. I'm pissed because he doesn't give a rat's patootie about our elderly, disabled, or our children. He panders and simps and sells out our nation's treasures to petty greedy men without requiring citizenship from them. His policies and the people he surrounds himself with reflect that disdain for the common person.

is 90% smoke and mirrors. Media promotes it and big business is selling it to the media...media has sold out and we viewers or the American viewers, not all, have chosen to accept it instead of taking responsibility.

8. success?
Biggest attack on America on his watch. Bungled war in Afghanistan. Bungled war in Iraq. Said we were going to war in Iraq for WMD's, all we've gotten so far is a hobo with a few cavities. Dropping dollar, 4 trillion-eleventy-billion dollar deficit.

I don't see any clear successes. Then again, i haven't been watching that much TV lately.

Getting brave American servicemen and women killed for no reason?

Bankrupting the economy?

Making food regulations so lax that we'll all be dying of Mad Cow 20 years from now?

Spending 200 billion dollars to catch Saddam?

Finding all those weapons of mass destruction?

...just looking for a little clarification here, Max baby...

Boot turns it around to say people do the debate a "disservice" by proclaiming * evil.

Evil should be reserved for Kim Jong Il, etc.

What a dick.

33. That guy, Max Boot,
scared the living shit out of me. He is totally insane. Now I think I understand what PNAC is all about. They think that it is their job to police the world and get rid of the evildoers. Boot actually said that if they didn't do it, then who would? The guy is a chickenhawk and scared. We have to get them before they get us, he said.

Boot said that bush*, Rummy, Cheney, Powell were not neocons, and he wished that they would listen to the neocons more than they do. (Again, this guy is insane and scary).

Of all the callers, I believe only two supported him. None of the people who sent e-mails supported him. And there must not have been any either, or I'm sure that woman would have read them.

I heard him bash Howard Dean at least three times. He said 60% of the people support bush*, and only 20% support Dean.

Fighting terror like AlQaeda requires a whole different approach . No giant military machine can be effective. Instead we need an elite force to get in and out of situations quietly. This moron thinks we need more Army batallions that are ineffective in terror situations

43. Max Boots, a great spokesman or neo-con-artist,
I heard that show, one entire hour of Mr Boots diatribe, and dribble of how great the neo-conservative agenda has been in promoting US security and expanding democracy around the world.......

Almost all the callers where extremely anti-neocon and nobody else seemed neo-conned by his performance, there was even one caller that had her son shipped out to Iraq that still does not have the bullet proof vest or right equipment.

I was very disappointed with Cspan, in one entire hour, there where less the a dozen callers allowed to ask a question, most of which Boots arrogantly ignored or dismissed as unsuitable of his time to even reply....what…. an… ass…..

Overall, if anyone listened to that show to learn about neo-con, they got little. Also, I do not think it convinced anyone well educated, or anyone that has been following events that the neo-cons are making Americans safer by their misleading statements, lies and distortions to fit their narrow ideology of ‘might makes right’.
