I heard the Republican Chair apologized for Calling the cops on Dems
My friend said he apologized to them all for calling the Police on them and he got all choked up about how wrong he was.

I wish I could have seen that.:bounce:

And to think all the rest of the Repub's who went on the record being YES MEN. said he was right.

Anybody else see the speech

6. Let's extend our forgiveness
and send him a fruitcake too.

By the way, any updates on the McGinnis Operation Fruitcake campaign?

7. It's played on CSPAN several times.
I saw it and thought "oh, cry me a river!" Because Bill Thomas, R-CA - Bakersfield) did, indeed, get choked up - a couple of times. I do not have a link but it WAS CSPAN and it was playing this past weekend.

He said such things as - Congress deserves to be served better than he did, and he vowed he would do better. He said moderation was what he should have employed - something he claimed he'd been advised by his mom. He said it was awful that his behavior had become the story, detracting from the "integrity" or some such - of the House of Reps.

What he said also led me to suspect that he would not have gotten off his high horse in the committee chambers earlier this month if there had not been some sort of large and negative reaction to it. I don't know exactly what that means, because I don't remember hearing or seeing enough coverage of it to attract sizeable attention. So I'm GUESSING that maybe there was some sort of on-line, or on-phone-to-congress/media, or some such campaign that got a disapproving message through. Maybe his fellow congresspeople pounced on him, although I was frankly surprised to hear a couple of rethugs sounding somewhat contrite. But my opinion (and it's only my opinion) is that he got scolded by SOMEBODY. Maybe just his mother. But who knows? This elicited a reaction from SOMEPLACE that hit home - hard enough for a swaggering, power-mad rethug to APOLOGIZE in front of people.

Again, just my guess.
