4. No.
That's all. Just "no". Bob Graham has a better chance of being elected Grand Poobah of the Bedrock chapter of the Loyal Order of Water Buffalos.

Nothing against him, but he's unelectable. Period.

Just *my* opinion, mind you...

6. And not a very good one at that
The man was the most respected governor in this state (FL), and now he's the most respected senator. He could easily be elected regardless of his looks.

And come on, look at the chimp in the WH now (no, he wasn't elected)...:puke:

10. great question
i would hope that intelligent, informed, tolerant americans would base their decision based upon much more than looks (or not at all on looks except for beady eyes and a strange resemblance to a chimp.)

however, most americans, sadly, are not intelligent, informed or tolerant. there are many that seek a "trophy" wife and also want a "trophy" prez.

that said, after the scandals of the current cabal are exposed (i hope) i can foresee an electorate voting for a straight shooter, nice uncle type of guy. carter was a little odd looking you know!

20. So he's no Romeo. Graham's a good man.
Through and through. Honest, smart and compassionate. He may seem moderate, but he's still a real Democrat.

Just one thing: He didn't serve in the military, as far as I can tell.

I'd like someone who the Pentagon and all the good men and women in uniform around the world can associate with directly.

To defeat the BFEE, we're going to need them.

26. Correct
Senator Graham did not serve in the military. This has never been made an issue I guess because he was in high school during Korea and the height of Vietnam was when Graham was in his 30s. Hey he's an old chap! :) I agree that military experience can't hurt. We shall see how it plays out.

22. Talk about UGLY the whole Bush family looks like Chimps
I am not joking they are the most ugliest families that I have laid eyes on. They are ugly from the inside as well as the outside.

Bab's Bush looks like George Washington and the male Bushes look chimpanzees.

Chimps are cute but people that look like chimps are ugly.

23. bob graham is NOT ugly
i have never heard a bad comment on his looks until this post. to me bob graham comes across as a mix of sweet grandfather and an expert on foreign policy and intelligence issues. if you have ever seen him with kids and how he talks about his own grandkids you can't help but like him. in fact, these two things would make one feel secure and contrast that with the apeshit in the white house .

If that's what you are saying, I don't get it at all. That's just not something that would even remotely come to mind when I look at him.

I don't like to throw the U word around. If all else on the surface fails, a beautiful interior ALWAYS makes for a beautiful exterior. Lincoln, to me, is one of the most beautiful people I've seen.

On the flip side, one could say Bush, Cheney, and Ashcroft are ugly. If a portrait a la Dorian Gray could be bought, they'd have been first in line, without a doubt. But as it is, we must watch daily as the evil they do manifests itself upon their faces.

32. Yes! If the force of his/her personality, convictions and delivery are...
...sufficient to counteract the "ugliness" factor.

That said, I don't think Graham is ugly, for god's sake. He's just not matinee idol material.

I'm beinnning to adore him for his relative outspokenness on Shrubco's Iraq and 9/11 bullshit, but I see him as Veep or Cabinet material.

Let's face it, in a visual media age, good looks only help.
