MSNBC Poll: Saddam's Capture Make You More Likely to Vote...
...for Herr Kingundfuehrer?

Stop laughing, boys and girls. That's really the poll on the front page of the MSNBC site today:
Does Saddam Hussein's capture make you more likely to vote for George W. Bush?

Current results:

More likely 38%

I still don't know 7%

I wouldn't vote for him no matter what 55%
Figured y'all would like a chance to DU do it. I did!

1. I'm kicking this up. It's still at 55%.
Let's get that number higher.

11. It worked on Mozilla. It just puts up the warning about some proprietiary
M$ thigamabob not working on real web browsers.

the poll did work, it just takes a bit to load on a dialup.

MS wants to force all non MS technology off the internet. Don't let them.

M$ is Republican, Gates supported Bush and Ashcroft. Linux and Apple are more open to democratic ideals.

7. Done. I wonder if this is a new trend. Wouldn't that be something?
The people getting a heavy dose of reality for Christmas and coming to their senses. The media finally deciding to tell the truth. The courts halting all this administration's disastrous environmental policies. What a wonderful present that would be. I can only hope.

12. This survey makes no sense.
There's no "no" option! Either you are more likely to vote for him, or you wouldn't vote for him no matter what (and that's /no matter what/), or you don't know! There's no option for people where it doesn't make a difference!

13. The poll is rigged by the very nature of the question
Since capturing Saddam is a universal good by any measure of having started a war ostensibly to overthrow Saddam, it would almost by definition have to make you more likely to vote for Bush. Even if you were 96% against Bush it might make you 95% against him but not 97% against him.

Why doesn't NBC ask: Does the fact that we haven't captured Osama bin Laden in the two years since 9-11 make you less likely to vote for Bush?

Or: Does America's economy getting ever more in debt without creating a notable number of jobs in three years make you less likely to vote for Bush?

Or: Does the Bush administration lying to start an offensive war in Iraq make you less likely to vote for Bush?

You can see what they're doing just by the way they do it.

They're trying to plant a thought that you should naturally be more predisposed towards Bush because of Saddam's capture.

14. Very bad news for Bush
Does Saddam Hussein's capture make you more likely to vote for George W. Bush? * 12353 responses

More likely 37%
I still don't know 7%
I wouldn't vote for him no matter what 56%

We can assume that some of the 37% would still consider voting for the Dem, although they are more likely than before to vote for Bush.

We can assume that some of the 7% who don't know also vote for the Dem.

Therefore, it is clear that a majority (over 60%) will vote Dem.

And that is being conservative, because things will only get worse, not better for Bush. He is briefly enjoying a post-Saddam glow which will wear off quickly.

And the Dem candidate has not yet been decided. When he is, the party will hopefully show some unanimity.
