A Christmas message for George W. Bush from William Rivers Pitt
My son is up here in NH, and played this for me earlier.

http://www.truthout.org/overview.htm

Merry Christmas, George.

4. Very good news that Truthout expands its messages
I check truthout regularly. I only watch news on television for its entertainment value. It is clearly out to herd the thoughts of people and not to give them true information to come to their own realty. The media sucks. The Internet is our only hope of being fenced in from the truth and this new feature at truthout is nothing less than patriotic service.

Thanks for the link.

7. I still remember how one of the many little things
that changed American public opinion about the Vietnam War was Life magazine's publishing the pictures of one week's dead.

Of course, Truthout doesn't have anywhere near the audience, but this is the kind of thing that needs to be hammered into the consciousness of the American people.

11. I think the turning point was Pete Seeger on the Smothers Brothers show...
...singing "Waist Deep in the Big Muddy." Remember that? It gave me goose bumps then and it still does now.

That song needs to come back, in a big way.

12. Hits in the Pitt of the stomach
Any mention or remembrance of those who are dying for .... little or nothing, gets me... gets me bad.

It's so very hard to hear this on Christmas eve night.

And so necessary.

I wish this was broadcast on every major news outlet.... instead of the current seasonal sales figures..

One question.... is there any archive for past messages?

Thanks for posting this.

Kanary

Edited on Thu Dec-25-03 11:59 AM by VelmaD
right after I had a fight with my sis-in-law about using racist language. I was already on the edge and this overview pushed me right over into angry tears. Very cathartic. Raven, you must be so proud of that boy of yours. Give him a hug for me wouldya? :-) Oh, and here's one for you too.

22. Thunderous anger!
Will's voice crackles with indignation, contempt, and lightning bolts of sulphur. I loved it.

Fiery enough to wake up Cotton Mather on a Sunday morning!

Or are they just a news source?
