Left Wing Media , My Arse - Utterly Shameful

US media, government scramble to obscure criminal dealings with Hussein
By Joseph Kay and Alex Lefebvre
24 December 2003
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2003/dec2003/huss-d24.shtml

Excerpt:
Recently declassified national security documents draw a devastating portrait of Washington’s use of Hussein in pursuit of its geopolitical interests in the Middle East. Even as it became aware that Iraq was using chemical weapons against Iranian troops and Iraqi Kurdish insurgents, the US government continued shifting its policy to provide critical political, military and economic support to Hussein’s regime.

This history exposes the administration’s rationale for invading and occupying Iraq and placing Hussein on trial as utterly false and hypocritical. Iraq’s use of chemical weapons, alongside its alleged possession of other so-called weapons of mass destruction, was a principal justification for the war. The documents establish irrefutably that key figures in the Reagan and Bush administrations were Hussein’s enablers and accomplices in his crimes.

(snip)

The declassified documents (publicly available at http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv) provide insights into the nature of the Baathist regime’s ties with the American government during the 1980s.

What is particularly troubling for ruling circles in the US is that many of the principals involved in those relations on Washington’s side—Rumsfeld, Vice President Cheney, the elder Bush and a number of others—either occupy leading positions in the current administration or are intimately connected to it. Any attempt to brush aside US-Iraqi relations in an earlier period as the bygone policy of a previous government is plainly untenable.

1. Great
I just bookmarked the site.

This is big stuff. I wonder why the mainstream media doesn't report this? We have to get the truth out.

2. The traditional "left wing" media
Has bent over backwards for the Bush Crime Syndicate.

Here is yet another example to use when debating a right wing ditto head.

Ah, what the hell. The way things are going, we'll be debating them between barbed wire at the re-education camps.

3. It's amazing, isn't it?
I'm at the point where I literally want to *scream* whenever I hear a rightwing blowhard bitch about the "left" media. They must've been watching a different media during the 2000 election that I was...
Seriously, read "Lies and The Lying Liars" for a really interesting bit on the 2000 election and the "left bias"...it's amazing, yet sickening.

4. I just got that book
And I can't wait to break it open.

As for the 2000 election, I was amazed how the talking heads were fawning over * after each debate. I watched Gore wax *'s ass and afterward the pundits were gushing about how * won. I was yelling at the TV, my wife thought I was losing it. I just don't understand how normal everyday people can't see what * really is.

The evidence is as plain as the nose on their face, yet they continue to worship the little emperor. Go figure

5. EXCELLENT book
You will laugh, you will cry, you will be outraged. That book stirred some passions in me.
The bits on O'Reilly are worth the 20 bucks for the book...I hurt for days after reading about his, um, skills as an author (trust me, you'll understand soon enough :) )

7. Isn't it amazing how the wing-nut blowhards all have sex on the brain?
I remember some schlock Gingrich wrote which a pouting sex kitten-nazi spy "athwart my chest" and pinning his shoulders.

It's the fetid imaginings of people who don't get enough IMHO.

8. Of course there IS no liberal media...never has been...
...but the RWing Propagandists needed a way to make their slobbering followers think the truth was biased against them.

- George Orwell knew how this works.
