Code Orange: Is it based on an Internet Hoax?
Edited on Tue Dec-23-03 10:38 AM by DoYouEverWonder
So where is all this chatter really coming from? And who is Jeremy Reynalds and why should we care?

The brownshirts are out in force on the Internet all of a sudden. Suddenly, there are numerous reports of al Qaeda plans for another terrorist attack. However, most of these reports seem to be coming from one person. A Mr. Jeremy Reynalds. Reynalds has been posting on numerous sites about assorted al Qaeda threats that he finds while he monitors al Qaeda websites in his spare time. The main source of his latest threats is someone named Daleel_Almojahid.

Here is a link to list of his recent articles:

http://www.bushcountry.org/news/nav_view_links/c_jreynalds.htm

Here are some excerpts:

http://www.bushcountry.org/news/columnists/jreynalds/c_122203_jreynalds_al_qaeda_nuclear_attack.htm

Is al Qaeda Threatening a Nuclear Attack?
By Jeremy Reynalds
12/22/03

A letter to the Bush Administration containing a list of demands from an alleged representative of the Islamic Jihad Brigade Black Death Squad says failure to fulfil those orders will have deadly consequences.

The document reads in part (sic), "We will give you a prior few minutes notice before our blessed attack so that you will be able to watch your destruction with your own satellite, as we would be by then have passed the skies of the seventh sky to heaven and your nation to the fires of hell."

While this document, written by alleged al Qaeda operative Daleel Almojahid, appears to indicate some sort of nuclear attack, it does seem to mirror closely other terrorist information that is being broadly circulated. On Friday Reuters reported the White House said it had warned security personnel to be on the look out for terror attacks during the Christmas holiday season.

The Coming Strike?
By Jeremy Reynalds
12-17-03

Self proclaimed al Qaida operative Daleel Almojahid said people should not be fooled by the jubilation shown over Hussein's capture. Almojahid wrote in an e-mail (sic), "Don't let the happiness fool you, the Americans are in the worst situation ever since starting their war on Afghanistan and Iraq ... The trap of Baghdad will start showing its teeth soon, and as you all know al Qaida has issued a warning for all Muslims to start leaving parts of the US. We hope that the warnings have reached."

Almojahid contended that (sic), "The (real) war with America did not start yet. The mojahideen are moving with certain planes. The timing of the start of the war will be decided (by) the mojahideen themself; but we can promise you that Bush and Blair and a lot of the crusaders don't know yet who al Qaida really is, but they will soon. The coming strike will turn the table upside down and we promise all Muslims in the word that god's victory is very near if you just know. We will issue a demand letter after the first strike and we advise America to answer all our demands right away."

However, as you can see, some of his previous predictions about about imminent terrorist attacks have not been based in reality.

Terrorist Planning To Poison Americans?
By Jeremy Reynalds
9-27-02

Posts on a Jordanian based internet hate site bulletin board hosted by an internet service provider based in Atlanta, Ga. are discussing what they say are plans for a campaign to poison Americans when they go out to eat at restaurants.

The information is reportedly coming from a "trustworthy source." The report was apparently posted with a view toward warning Muslims about upcoming plans. The post appears to say that the writer is not someone who believes that Muslims who support American owned businesses deserve death by poisoning. The writer says that those who haven't up until now boycotted American restaurants need to do so in the near future and spread the warning to others.

<snip>

As you process the shocking nature of these posts, please bear in mind that I am not in any way vouching for their validity. A proposed attack upon American restaurants may or may not be in the works. Obviously, I hope that it's just the hateful ramblings of some demented people who have no intention or ability of carrying out their actions. But you never know, and that's why I thought it was important to pass this information on. (My educated guess is that you're not going to hear about this from the government, even though law enforcement authorities have been informed).

Al Qaeda Political Wing Apparently Threatening Imminent Attack
By Jeremy Reynalds
09-11-02

On the eve of 9/11, the self-described political wing of al- Qaida is
Apparently promising an imminent attack on the United States.

The warning also comes on a day when the Bush administration has
Heightened its color-coded terror alert for Wednesday to a "high alert" orange.

An e-mail to me from the web master for a web site claiming speak for
Abu Hamza, the religious leader in charge of the Finsbury Park mosque in London, and an alleged key recruiting ground for terrorists, read:

"Our Military Wings are ready to attack several Targets World-Wide! ... YES Al-Qaida Military Wing will attack USA in near future we can not give any details of operation on going in the same way you can not give details of your attack on Muslims around the world. Feel free to attend our Thanks Giving for the Lives of our Martyrs Lives who gave their lives fighting for a Islamic world FREE of all AMERICANS ! Your country's stand with Israel and the daily attacks on Muslims around the world shows that more attacks by the Military Wing of Al-Qaida are a important tool in our fight for Justice. We demand all USA forces to leave our holy lands and the stepping down of Arab leaders who stand by USA policy for OIL and lands for Jews!"

This e-mail was in response to a note I sent to Abu Hamza a few days ago which asked the following question: "I am a reporter who has been doing a series of articles on internet terrorism. Are you planning an attack on America in commemoration of 9/11?"

In that list is even an article devoted to us, www.democraticunderground.com. It seems that in Jim's mind there is not much of a difference between us and al Qaeda.

Democrats Go Underground

It's a blatantly "in-your-face" anti-conservative gathering place on the web for apparently mostly rabid Democrats and other like-minded radicals who are convinced that President George W. Bush holds his presidential office illegitimately.

The site is www.democraticunderground.com and the site owners are quite clear about where they stand.

<snip>

If you want to make sure that their worn-out dreams and aspirations don't come to fruition, here's what you need to do. Keep (or start) praying for the Lord's blessing upon President Bush and all the members of his cabinet, pray for the upcoming elections and your elected representatives and make sure that you vote. The results of your failure to do so could be terrifying for the future of our country!

So what to do? We need to expose this crap. Please pass this along to anybody and everybody. We need to get the word out on this fellow. This is where the 'chatter' is coming from all of a sudden. One thing that I can tell for sure is whether or not Daleel Almojahid is a real person or someone who Reynolds has created. If Reynolds 'created' this character then Reynolds should be prosecuted for supplying false and misleading information at the least and creating a state of emergency by disseminating this information all over the internet.

Peace Be With You
DYEW

edit: changed title in hopes of getting some response.

28. Anyone have a deck of Al-Qaeda playing cards?
If they are such a goddam threat, why hasn't this administration published a set of playing cards so we can get to know our enemy? Heck, we had the Iraqi deck in no time.

We've been fighting* Al-Qaeda for 3 years now and I've yet to see any detailed mapping of the organization....why's that?

*Except when we gave the AQ safe passage from Afghanistan with the Pakistani's just before we pulverized Tora-Bora.

2. Listening to CNN this AM
Whoever is briefing the correspondents is adding an aire of credibility to the threat stories by making certain that they report that some of the "chatter" etc., has been corraborated. This is different from other alerts based on said chatter.

That leaves us with two choices in evaluating this news: either they actually HAVE information; or, they are going through extraordinary lengths to shore up their credibility.

What do you think?

7. I think it is Bu$hCo operatives
such as Reynolds who are spreading this disinformation.

Reynolds is posting his reports of numerous conservative right wing sites. W is in major trouble, so they are pulling out all the stops. It seems to me that the brownsuits like Reynolds are willing to go any extreme in order to keep the anointed one in power.

Here are a few of the other sites that host Reynolds and his fear mongering.

and I believe it was on DU I saw an article which read, Bush to visit troops in Iraq over Christmas. This was the first of last week. All this clamor about raising the alert began in the latter part of the week. So my theory is, they the Admin. put the first out and then raised the alert status, and thus gave bush an out as to why if anyone asks why he did not go over to Iraq. Well hell, it makes sense to me.

27. How many millions did it cost us to raise the terror threat?
If this whole threat assessment was built on this guy's fairy tale, seems to me he is a terrorist and should be dealt with as such.

I agree that if a terrorist group was really planning an attack, the last thing they'd do is publish it on the internet.

We should be demanding an investigation into the "evidence" that this administration used to bump the threat level. If it turns out that this is the primary reason, it's time to demand Dimson's resignation.....his reign of fear needs to come to an end now.

29. Yes, how many families had their holidays ruined
because they have to work instead? How many people had to cancel their vacation plans? How much is it costing us to go to an orange alert?

Does anyone know anything about this Jeremy Reynalds fellow? He runs Joy Junction, a faith-based homeless shelter in Albuquerque, NM. In his spare time, he has become a selfmade 'expert' on al Qaeda's internet activities. He was even quoted in Wired as an expert. He has been posting his views on an assortment of issues since around August, 2001. To say the least his views are rather extreme and his past posts about al Qaeda threats have not panned out.

Thanks to all of you for your support. At least I'm not the only one who thinks I'm onto something. But we need to get the word out but to who? What is the best way to go about this? Suggestions?

a real rat's nest.

Who the heck are these folks, the Northeast Intelligence Network?

http://www.homelandsecurityus.com/Mission.htm

This is a special division of Tactical Publications dedicated to the fight against terrorism, developed and maintained as www.HomelandSecurityUS.com, a division of Hagmann Investigative Services, Inc. We are comprised of a small contingent of experienced investigators known as Northeast Intelligence Services founded by veteran private investigator Douglas J. Hagmann.

Bush Country - Specific Threat Information

21 December 2003-- A somber Tom Ridge, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security announced the increase of the color coded alert to "Orange" today, stating: "The strategic indicators, including al Qaeda's continued desire to carry out attacks against our homeland, are perhaps greater now than at any point since September 11th. Information indicates that extremists abroad are anticipating near-term attacks that they believe will rival, or exceed, the attacks in New York, at the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania."

The Northeast Intelligence Network has been actively investigating raw data from a number of various sources, including human intelligence from government officials obtained by Mr. Steven Quayle as well as a variety of information obtained by network analysts around the clock since the middle of last week. Specific intelligence obtained by this network determined the following:

Edited on Tue Dec-23-03 10:42 PM by Old and In the Way
This is beyond bizarre. Since when does a private company start analyzing the source of terror threats? Is it because ythis administration can't trust our CIA/NSA/DIA to get it right? Or because they won't get the responses they need.

You are on to something...and this is getting stranger by the minute. Why is our national security being outsourced to a private comapny?

A private company run by an individual named Douglas J. Hagmann, who like Jeremy Reynalds is posting all sorts of info about terrorists threats in the last three months. Much of it is the same or similar to what Reynalds is posting. So far none of their predictions have come true. Some of their other stuff that is not about al Qaeda is pretty out there. I am starting to doubt that the info they are spreading about this threat is any more valid than anything else they have predicted that didn't happen.

They both like to use Free Republic and Yahoo chat rooms. This indeed is getting stranger and stranger.

35. One thing I don't get
Why is it that everytime there is a 'Terra Alert' (Alert to the Planet?) from 'al Qaeda' that they brag gloriously about what they will do, and when its over, they brag about doing it. Much like HAMAS.

But...in all the big bombings in Iraq that were blamed on foreign 'Al Qaeda' fighters...you have none of that? Am I wrong and overlooked some...or am I right? Isn't that a bit fishy?

37. The next 9/11 will not be announced
Having the US on code orange is fine with Al Qaeda - hell, we are spending $1 Billion a week. By the way isn't that what Iraq 'costs'? Nothing will happen over the next couple of weeks.

The next 9/11/01 will be 2/2/04 5/12/06 1/5/05 6/22/04 or 12/13/10 etc., etc. ... it will be unannounced and unexpected and with code at normal. The target will be a small town in Kansas, a bridge in NYC, a high school football game in Texas, a power plant in Idaho, a school in Colorado, an office building in Fargo, ND, a farm in Iowa, etc., etc., it will be random.

Everything is a potential target and we will have no clue it is about to happen.

44. Was the last 911 announced ?? did I miss something?
And how do you get your list of the next targets?

Isn't it just as likely that there will be no other successful strikes?

I mean that's what we'd expect by that good 'ol "better" security we get after heightened alerts.
