Historical recall of US policy and the chemical weapons in Iraq

09/22/1980 : Iraq invaded Iran

October 1983 : The Reagan Administration secretly allowed Jordan, Arabia and Egypt to give american weapons to Iraq (helicos, cannons, bombs...).

12/20/1983 : Saddam received Rumsfeld, special emissary of Reagan. He ensured Saddam for "the American friendship and material support".

1984 : CIA gave battlefield special data to Iraq for dropping chemical weapons on Iranian troops.

03/21/1986 : The USA opposed a Security Council pronouncement against the chemical weapons use by Iraq.

1987-88 : Anfal offensive against Kurds (180 000 deaths, 4000 destroyed villages).

03/88 : the Kurdish town Halabja is gazed by the Iraqi army ( 5000 deaths)

08/88 : cease-fire betwen Iraq and Iran

09/88 : The USA approved the supply for Iraq of botulism and coal toxins for a military use.

08/02/90 : Iraq invaded Kowiet
