as well as Cabinet members, sub-Cabinets members etc., go with the troops whenever they are deployed into harms way!
At the very least, those that purchase equipment for our military forces, should be sent into combat areas with the equipment purchased by them. Want to bring up morale? Show me the LtGen that signed the order for the less than armored Humvee's in Iraq, riding forward into the fray in one of them!
Let's see how the MG that signed the orders for less than adequate body armor enjoys walking the streets of Tikrit!
Few things would make me more aware of the "guts" Tom DeLay swears he has, if he goes into a firefight in a small village, house to house, RPG's aimed at his well protected head! (No helmet needed for that pate)!
My point is, while those that will put shoddy goods into the hands of our military are spared the pain of injury or death; they have NO problem finding excuses for poor design and workmanship. They've been paid...they sleep well...Let's wake 'em up!
Send Congress to Iraq, bet we'd have an "exit strategy" in 15 minutes!
Perhaps, if we can listen to the RW talk about an Amendment on Flag burning; they would listen to an Amendment demanding that they fight the battles they start!
