Should Bill Clinton volunteer to testify before the 9/11 Commission?
I do not know what Bill Clinton did or did not do about Osama or terrorism, but I think he should go before the commission. His refusal - or perhaps he hasn't been asked - only gives George Bush and his Administration an excuse to cooperate fully with this commission that is in the interest of the people and is interested in the safety of the American people. I would love for Bill Clinton to offer to help them with their investigation. This would be a good first step in getting cooperation from this Nixonian White House.

2. absolutely...
i would love to here him outline in detail the job he did thwarting terrorism, his anti-terror legislation that was shot down by the republicans in congress and the briefings that were given to the current jackasses when they handed power over, and how they dropped the ball.

yeah, that would be sweet indeed. then again, my discussions with my rightie friends would once again turn to bj's and cigars, and how this is much worse than mass murder and taking our country to war under false pretenses.

5. He should testify that they should have the spine to do their jobs...
And if he did then perhaps the NYT would realise that 911 issues are always newsworthy...

11. Exactly
Unfortunately, he still hasn't learned his lesson about playing nice with these creeps. He might do it to be a fine fellow, thinking that this will allow him to be vindicated, but Junior will skate, and anything slightly questionable that Clinton says will be turned against him. By default, and endless repetition, Clinton will look to be the villain.

It's simple: Junior answers nothing to incriminate him, so can't be hanged by his own words.

Clinton should do it on contingency of Bush doing it.

If establishment Dems don't say that this is being politicized and whitewashed, then the Junta will merrily roll along; it doesn't need to be forgotten if it's never known...

10. Unfortunately
I don't think he will.

He has plenty to answer for as to what was going on under his own watch. There were people who were warning about the danger of an attack in the CIA who were shut down for reasons of petty office politics and departmental backstabbing under Clinton, and those backstabbers were rewarded under Clinton. It's unacceptable.

12. I believe he said quite some ago
that he would be glad to testify before the commission - way back when someone suggested that bush and Clinton should testify.

13. Clinton should testify and so should Bush1.
This terrorism inquiry should go back as far as possible. I would even like to see Albrigt and others in the administrations prior to GW testify. There was alot missed and it was missed before '98 bombing in Algeria and Kenya.
