Definitions of liberal and conservative and voters ideas of.
The below are definitions I found in dictionaries online. according to the dictionary it would seem to me that 87$billion for Iraq War , I mean liberation is very liberal and drilling in wildlife sanctuaries is not very conservative ? There are a lot of voters like the NASCAR dad types who wouldn't vote Dem even if they thought the candidate was better for them in fear of being called liberal by their buddies. The homophobe bigot types have an idea that being called liberal is like being called Fag or N word lover or any other similar thing the Rush types have convinced them of . Deans well publicized statement about wining the southern voters with rebel flags and guns racks in the pick up trucks was turned against him . Ironically enough by the Repugs who don't really do much for the rebel flag guys or black voters . So shouldn't some of the Dem candidates point out that Shrub policies are very radical and not conservative at all , like stripping constitutional rights and some very liberal policies like spending 87 billion of tax payer money . I think it is big ammunition for the Repugs to label someone liberal, the labeled candidates automatically loose a certain amount of potential voters for that label alone . Someone needs to make these voters who have had it pounded in their heads that being a liberal is such a bad thing think a moment when a candidate is labeled a liberal .

liberal
giving or given generously
He was very liberal with the wine.
Some merchants offer very liberal return policies, but others are strict.

con·ser·va·tive
1. Moderate; cautious: a conservative estimate.

2. Tending to conserve; preservative: the conservative use of natural resources

1. Perhaps.
But as to conservative...Dean doesn't exactly strike me as cautius in his comments or moderate in his declarations. Just to be frank that is...
