pat robertson appreciation thread
Pat Robertson, I salute you for making the conservative right look so stupid

"When I said during my presidential bid that I would only bring Christians and Jews into the government, I hit a firestorm. `What do you mean?' the media challenged me. `You're not going to bring atheists into the government? How dare you maintain that those who believe in the Judeo Christian values are better qualified to govern America than Hindus and Muslims?' My simple answer is, `Yes, they are.'" --from Pat Robertson's "The New World Order," page 218.

"You say you're supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this, that, and the other thing. Nonsense. I don't have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist. I can love the people who hold false opinions but I don't have to be nice to them."--Pat Robertson, The 700 Club, January 14, 1991

"Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history."--Pat Robertson, 1993 interview with Molly Ivins

(talking about apartheid South Africa) "I think 'one man, one vote,' just unrestricted democracy, would not be wise. There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now, a minority, and they need and have a right to demand a protection of their rights."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 3/18/92

"The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism, and become lesbians." -- Pat Robertson, fundraising letter, 1992

(talking about Planned Parenthood) "It is teaching kids to fornicate, teaching people to have adultery, every kind of bestiality, homosexuality, lesbianism-everything that the Bible condemns."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 4/9/91

"I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 1/8/92

"How can there be peace when drunkards, drug dealers, communists, atheists, New Age worshipers of Satan, secular humanists, oppressive dictators, greedy money changers, revolutionary assassins, adulterers, and homosexuals are on top?"--Pat Robertson, The New World Order, p.227

"There is no such thing as separation of church and state in the Constitution. It is a lie of the Left and we are not going to take it anymore." --Pat Robertson, November 1993 during an address to the American Center for Law and Justice

"Many of those people involved with Adolph Hitler were Satanists, many of them were homosexuals--the two things seem to go together."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 1/21/93

"I think we ought to close Halloween down. Do you want your children to dress up as witches? The Druids used to dress up like this when they were doing human sacrifice... are acting out Satanic rituals and participating in it, and don't even realize it."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 10/29/82

little Jimmy Dobson, another of the unholy trinity of the wing-nut world. Let's not let angry little Jimmy fly under the radar as he does so often. He's as dangerous as Pat or Jerry.

Come into my church and take my hard-earned money for your PAC, will ya Jimmy? Lucifer is waiting for you.

4. I Saw Doubtson on the Larry King Lovefest...
This guy is so disconnected with what a family is all about, it's amazing he hasn't been exposed for fraud.

Speaking from 27 years of togetherness and two well-adjusted, progressive, young adults, I am glad to say I subscribed to NONE of the good Dr.'s dogmas and fantasies. Personal responsiblity isn't ever approached as all sins are obviously some subervisive liberal plot and that the elimination of that threat somehow will eliminate the vice.

The sheep that listen to this egotesticle goon are kept in ignorance and fear by these snake-oil salesmen...and unfortunately, the do so blissfully and willing to be virtually robotic in their devotion to these assholes.

Dobson gives tons of RW hate speak using the term "The Family", as if he has some divine knowledge of what that word means and none of us mere mortals do. How dare that false idol.

7. Pat, let me introduce you to a friend of mine....
he was called Rabbi sometimes, and he preached peace, tolerance, and understanding. He wouldn't know an Episcopalian, Methodist, or 700 Club member if he saw them, because he'd see them all as God's children, as he was. You probably wouldn't like him, but he'd like you, because he said, "Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you and spitefully use you...."

12. The friend of whom you speak wouldn't like Pat very much at all...
In fact, when Pat goes upstairs to meet Him, he'll be met with the message "depart from me, ye worker of iniquity. I never knew you ".... right before he finds himself in a much warmer climate.

8. Reminisce: the first time I ever saw Robertson
I was in college studying International Relations. After a late night I went into the TV lounge and a show was on with several well-dressed white men soberly discussing foreign policy. In the center they had a big map of Eurasia.

After the first few initial chuckles, my eyes opened wider and wider and my jaw started dropping to the floor. Remember, this is during the early days of the Neutron Ron regime...I couldn't believe my ears.

In complete seriousness, they were discussing foreign policy moves the United States must take in order to create a scenario that will lead to the Russians moving down from the north and the Chinese mobilizing from the east. Converging on the Holy Land. Nuclear weapons.

These guys were advocating the US starting a nuclear war in the Middle East! On national television. In all seriousness. They were urging viewers to write their congressmen to support the policies that would lead to this apocalyptic scenario!

Fast forward to 1984. Pat Robertson wins the Michigan primary. Pat Robertson: stupid and scary.

10. And, of course, it ain't over yet...
now the Evangelical mindset is at the helm of the Ship of State, the 4th-Class Cruiser S.S. Chimpy

AaaaOOOOOgaaah ! AaaaaOOOOOgaaaah ! Apocalypse Ahead !
Man the lifeboats.

Women and children, help the menfolk get aboard and launch. Don't foreget to wave dolefully as they set off for adventure on the salty Sea of Armageddon.

A Three-Hour Cruise? Not likely. But, this too shall pass.

13. Actually, Pat's Presidential attempt was in 1988.
He liked St Reagan too much to run against him, but wasn't that crazy about Poppy (who had initially ran as a pro-choice Republican in 1980).

As for the scenario you describe which will force Russia to move north toward Israel and the Chinese to come from the east, take another look at the PNAC agenda.... if it is fully enacted, this is exactly where it will lead to.

But the Euphrates river needs to dry up first. That's how the Chinese army will get there, according to Bible prophecies.
