Clark/Gephardt supporters check in
Edited on Wed Dec-17-03 01:08 AM by VT70
Clark/Gephardt supporters check in, please.

Hey folks, I'm a Gephardt supporter, and he's my #1 pick. But General Clark is running a VERY close 2nd to him. I think Gephardt/Clark or Clark/Gephardt would be two of the best tickets we could run in a GE. Anyway, check in if you want. I just wanted to get a feel for how many of you there are.

Dean supporters, if you are going to cause trouble, please stay out of this thread.

1. Gotta love the guy who coined "miserable failure"
I like Gebhardt. This country hasn't elected very many legislators (3) to the office of president. But he's a good guy. When he talks he does that fist-thumb thing too much though. He'd make a good Veep for Clark

2. I agree

I just want Gep on the ticket in one of the spots. Doesn't matter if it's prez or veep. Dean won't win the South Carolina primary here. He makes asinine comments about the Confederate flag, and he can go fuck himself.

3. Clark/Gep would make a great ticket!
Or the other way around. I like Gephardt on domestic policy, not so much on foreign policy. But, he runs a close second with me after Clark.

4. I like that ticket
Gep would be a great debate opponent for Cheney.

He'd be a good V.P. for Clark, his experience would help a lot with working with Congress.

That ticket would have an excellent electoral college edge, too.

9. Yes
Clark would bring us Arkansas, and Gep would bring us Missouri and West Virginia, and maybe even Ohio. :)

8. Gephardt is a miserable failure
as House leader and as a candidate for President.

Wes Clark is light-years ahead of Gephardt on all counts!

Gephardt is totally unacceptable for anything short of political oblivion.

12. Clark has no PNAC ties
Clark has no PNAC ties and I support all the antiwar candidates (which includes Clark).

You apparently missed my Kucinich thread in which I endorsed Dennis enthusiastically in response to ABC News decision to end coverage of Dennis, Mosley-Braun, and Sharpton. Having endorsed Kucinich means that technically I am not a "Deanie" as you call Dean supporters.

I never attacked Lieberman for his "pro-Israel" stance. I have attacked Lieberman for being a crypto-Fascist and a moralizing dickhead like his pal Bill Bennett.

Evan Bayh is a Hoosier version of Zell Miller and I am voting against him next year. Unfortunately, Bayh will win reelection in a landslide by virtue of all the Republicans that will cross over to vote for his sorry white elitist ass!

I am well aware of Kucinich's pro-life record. I am also aware of Kucinich's journey towards a pro-choice position. I am quite comfortable in the belief that Kucinich's "conversion" on abortion rights was intellectually honest and not the result of some crass political calculation as Gephardt's appearance next to Bush and Trent Lott in the Rose Garden in support of IWR.

What the hell does Bayh's skin color have to do with this, IG? If Bayh had been black and you said his sorry black elitistass, you can bet there would be an uproar, and that post probably would have been deleted. Don't inject race into conversations where it is irrelevant. And my Deanie reference in the original post was meant to include other malcontents who clicked into this thread for the specific purpose of disrupting it.

16. Libertarian Party is the strongest third party in Indiana
Here are the 2000 results (notice how many people that voted for the Democratic governor turned around and voted for Bush--a typical Hoosier trait):

(D) Gore - 899,836 - 41%

(I) Buchanan - 17,374 - 1%

(L) Browne - 16,780 - 1% 0

Write ins:

John Hagelin NLP/Reform < 1%

Ralph Nader Green < .8%

Governor's race:

(D) O'Bannon (Incumb.) 1,230,154 - 56 %

(R) McIntosh - 905,032 - 42 %

(L) Horning - 38,819 - 2 %
