Anyone think Dumbya's response to Dean's 9-11 question was WIERD?
http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/news/news-politics-bush.html

>>>Dean has riled Republicans in recent weeks by tossing out a theory that Bush had advance warning from Saudi Arabia of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, suggesting Bush knew what was going to happen and did nothing to stop it.

When asked about the theory, Bush at first stuck to his formulation that ``there's time for politics'' later and that he has a job to do first. But then he could not resist rejecting the theory.

``It's an absurd insinuation,'' said Bush, his eyes narrowing.<<<

Anyone see it? Aside from Bush's annoying "Um's" and "Uh's", hus reaction to the question was wierd. He really looked taken aback. It was the first time I've EVER seen him questioned directly on his failure(or lack of interest) to act on 9-11, and and he REALLY came across like someone with something to hide.

Am I the only one who picked up on it?

4. Bush
Funny how he's so reluctant to release those daily briefings. He has nothing to hide, right...right?

22. And why do his eyes change color???
This has bugged me for some time now.

Has anyone else noticed?

Sometimes his eyes look BLACK -- like his pupils are totally dilated or something. DARK. Other times, his eyes are light-colored (blue/gray/green?)

What gives?

23. I think antidepressants cause pupils to dilate
and thus they would look black. Irreversible brain damage also causes dilated pupils. The antidepressants are more likely, cause irreversible brain damage usually means you are just about dead.

24. Thanks for the info
I'm an artist, and I started studying his eye color very closely because I've never seen anyhing like it...

Actually, I had a male cat once who would go "psycho" if another cat walked by the window. His pupils would dilate immediately and he'd attack. We started calling him Kujo.

7. Also, let's not forget that the August 6th briefing is
after all public knowledge.
Therefore, it is not an absurd insinuation at all.
What is absurd is the refusal to cooperate with the investigation, and the constant lies about what everyone knows they knew.

9. It spooked him, but the kind reporters immediately drew his attention away
from it, with more pointless questions. It would have been awesome if they'd followed up on it. But no, it's Saddam time.

11. You weren't the only one
As I said in the first thread on this last night, it looked like someone had accused him of murder when all the reporter was asking is if the accusation could be considered political hate speech. We can use that footage in an ad quite nicely too. Just say what a decisive and confident leader he is and show that clip of him squirming.

14. Funny, Dean's "Absurd Insinuation"
was merely that Bush's failure to cooperate with the 9-11 was causing rumors about his foreknowledge to spread even more.

Dean never suggested that Bush actually knew.

16. He said that was one of the theories...
...he'd heard that was a direct result of Bush's stonewalling and obstructing...which is true. The blacking out of the congressional committee report, which everyone KNOWS and has been reported, has to do with the Saudis funding Ossama and reports from foreign intelligence. What's most shocking to me is that these questions have been asked again and again, but team Bush keep dodging the question and never answering, or worse, they lie, they get caught lying, and they just KEEP GOING...

Although I tend to think bringing this stuff out could destroy Bush. Dean has nothing to lose.

Howard DeanÕs Loose Lips

by Maureen Farrell

According to Media Monitor, when Senator Alfonse D'Amato appeared on CNNÕs Evans and Novak on July 30, 1995, Bob Novak asked him to address then Speaker of the House Newt GingrichÕs concerns that Vince FosterÕs death might not be a suicide. "Why have you closed the door on that speculation when there are a lot of indications that it is not a closed case?" Novak reportedly asked, later inquiring, "So how did you know it was a suicide then?"

Just last week, however, Novak confessed his distaste for such speculation, becoming downright indignant when Gov. Howard Dean discussed theories regarding the Bush administrationÕs stonewalling of the Sept. 11 investigation. "It was bad enough when Howard Dean, interviewed on National Public Radio Dec. 1, spread a conspiracy theory that George W. Bush ignored Saudi Arabian warnings of the 9/11 terrorist attacks," Novak wrote. "It was worse Dec. 7 on Fox News Sunday, when the Democratic presidential front-runner neither apologized nor repudiated himself for passing along this urban legend."

If Novak hadnÕt partaken in the morally repugnant outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame and hadnÕt been considered a propaganda conduit for the Nixon White House, this bluster might be an easier sell. As it stands now, however, his displaced outrage is only slightly more credible than a recycled "Hillary Clinton as Vince FosterÕs murderous (yet lesbian) mistress" tale.

The sin Novak cited occurred approximately 40 minutes into DeanÕs hour-long interview with NPRÕs Diane Rehm. "Dean was asked about allegations that President Bush is suppressing information that he was warned about the 9/11 terrorist attacks," Novak wrote, quoting Dean as saying, "The most interesting theory that I have heard so far . . . is that he was warned ahead of time by the Saudis." Novak also took Dean to task for assertions made on Fox. "After playing to Bush-haters who listen to National Public Radio, Dean repeated the same canard to Fox's Sunday morning mainstream viewers."

In addition to craftily referring to NPR listeners as "Bush haters" and Fox viewers as "mainstream," Novak employed the mother of all propaganda ploys by lopping off choice segments of DeanÕs comments, thereby changing the tone. This was the actual exchange:

Caller: "Once we get you in the White House, would you please make sure that there is a thorough investigation of 911 and not stonewalling?"

Howard Dean: "Yes there is a report which the president is suppressing evidence for, which is a thorough investigation of 911.

Diane Rehm: "Why do you think he is suppressing that report?

Howard Dean: "I don't know. There are many theories about it. The most interesting theory that I've heard so far -- which is nothing more than a theory, it can't be proved -- is that he was warned ahead of time by the Saudis. Now who knows what the real situation is? But the trouble is, by suppressing that kind of information, you lead to those kind of theories, whether they have any truth to them or not, and eventually, they get repeated as fact. So I think the president is taking a great risk by suppressing the key information that needs to go to the Kean Commission." [
