Bush Press Conference - A Disaster?
I keep hearing references to Bush's press conference this morning. Apparently it was even worse than his normal press conferences. Can anyone verify or elaborate? Thx.

1. He sounded like a vindictive hateful whiner
Truly a disgraceful performance by a world (mis)leader.

'Murikans he appeals to, a disgustingly large number, btw, think their Great Leader's performance was just fine and dandy.

7. Can you give me an example?
Cause I know the "news" is going to paint him as some masterful orator and I'd like to know "the truth" before I'm subjected to it.

Thx.

5. Doesn't matter if it was or wasn't, Corporate TV Pravda will peal his
praises!

"What a masterful press conference!"

"Churchillian!"

I never realized the absoulte power of a corrupted media until Bunnypants*-Gore Debate #1, where the Party-Loyal Right-Wing Sub-Media, carrying Corproate TV Pravda behind in tow as is so common these days, annointing the sweaty, fumble-mouthed, vapid Bunnypants* the "winner".

"The Matrix" was a movie idea who's time has come, us being surrounded by a Soviet-style Matrix here in Imperial Amerika.

15. cochlear implant
I remember when he got it put in. There were shots of him with a large bump adjacent to his right ear and he wore a band aid on top of it for few days.

It would be fun to figure out what frequency he's on and transmit some fun stuff for him to say...

16. Glad you brought that up.
I was actually thinking the same thing during his press conference this morning. He kept stammering and stuttering and looking at his notes. It seemed like he kept pausing and waiting a few seconds to repeat his spoon-fed lines.

He is atrocious. I can't wait until the debates. I can't imgaine that his keepers will let him do more than one though. By the way, why does Chimpy always say, "that's a trick question" to a reporter when he has no answer?

11. There's a reason for the desperation in the press conference
You can bet Rove went over the morning Gallup poll results showing Bush got no bump from Saddam being captured.

There was also the news that IBM is outsourcing 4,730 jobs, and there was another bombing in Baghdad.

They've got to be shitting bricks right about now.

19. They are shitting bricks
Because the Iraqis and Kurds stuck them with Saddam alive. The deal wasn't supposed to go down this way. That soldier at the entrance of Saddam's hidey hole was supposed to kill him with that grenade. Something went wrong and Saddam popped out and surrendered. This senario was not in the play book. That is why W cancelled church yesterday and wasn't ready to make a statement until after noon, despite the fact that he knew from the day before that they had Saddam.

Today he was just about incoherant at his press conference. Imagine if you had just accomplished a major mission goal? If W had wanted a living, breathing Saddam on his hands he would have dressed up like Santa and flown to Baghdad in order to make the announcement himself.

23. That's really interesting input DoYouEverWonder...
I assumed that a dead Saddam would be even more of a problem 'cause
he'd be a big martyr to Iraqis, but a live Saddam may humiliate and
demoralize Iraqis...those that haven't been slaughtered of course.

But I dunno.

33. Dressed up like Santa?
Funny you should say that... I thought Saddam Claus was going to bring Bush his xmas wish. But the problem is that there are no WMD's and haven't been for 14 years or so, so little boy Bush is going to get coal in his stocking.

I bet anyone $20 that Saddam either has a heart attack in his cell (lethal injection) or he manages to "hang himself" before trial.

If not, he will blow the lid off the Bush admin and expose daddy Bush and Rummy's involvement in selling him arms and WMD in the past, as well as expose lots of US corporations for their illegal trades over the years - he could even taint "Saint Ronnie".

Bush must be wearing Depends now. In fact, after listening to his press conference where he was questioned about 9/11 (the "Bush knew" question), I swear I heard a squishing sound in between his "uuuuhhh" and "ahhh" comments - that would account for his inability to focus on his cochlear implant.

He was stammering much more than usual. He seemed really uneasy.

And as usual, he laced his statements with these really obvious, pointless lies that were so silly, it was just distracting. For instance, he said something like, "next year I'll have many, many press conferences, just as I've done this year..."

People remark all the time on how few press conferences this president has held- even his supporters. It's just an obvious fact. But then he says he's had "many, many" of them this year. And he stammered when he did it.

Just weird.

44. An evil man gloats before a supine press.
At the first question, the unelected fraud turned off his pseudo-charm act and went directly into his scared bunnypant mode of a more condescending nature than usual communication style. All went swimmingly, although haltingly, as he deftly fumbled the use of verbs, nouns, agreement and all around meandering bullshit. Most of the cowed press read their scripted questions and waited for their browbeating to come after respectfully intoning, "Mr. President" and "Sir" at every opportunity.

There was only one moment of tension, when some, by now blacklisted, reporter dared ask for Smirk's response to "Dean's accusation" that "you knew" about 9-11 attacks beforehand. Bush looked surprised at the question — obviously, his wireless laptop on the podium couldn't answer — and he coughed out, "Well. It's politics, you know. (pause of 2 seconds or so.) That's politics." Then he went on to answer the by now scared reporter's "unrelated follow-up" (BIG laugh from the White House press whores).

What was frightening was the look the pretzeldunce gave this reporter while answering, at some length, the follow-up question. For the first few seconds, Bush's expressions were identical to those of the condemned NAZI war criminals, his a countenance full of hatred. The Little Turd from Crawford must have known what his face was saying, because, quick as a wink, he morphed into his signature smirk. For a moment, though, the camera captured exactly what George W Bush is, a monster.

45. How is he going to sell oil contracts now that he has lost both reasons
for being in Iraq, WMD and Saddam? Dean stated that it is time to take the U S label off this occupation but if Bush does that what happens to the oil? My gut tells me this wasn't in the playbook and he and his henchmen are trying to salvage whatever they can as we speak. Perhaps someone with greater knowledge about this can speak to what will happen to the oil if we partner with others.
