If you could say one thing to George W. Bush, what would it be?
Edited on Mon Dec-15-03 12:05 PM by NicoleM
I don't know about the rest of you, but I need a little catharsis. I watched about a minute of the press conference, and it was sixty seconds too many.

If I could talk to George W. Bush right now, as soon as I calmed down enough to speak, here is what I would say:

1. Quit saying "the American people know" or "the American taxpayers understand." You do not speak for me, and you do not speak for millions of other Americans. To state definitively what we know or think is presumptuous, rude, and just plain wrong.

2. You are arrogant, petulant, and spoiled. I wouldn't care if you were anybody else, but I am continually embarrassed to have you represent my country to the world. I just hope that there are people outside the US who know what you don't--that you are not worshipped and adored by the majority of Americans.

3. I am your employer. I pay your salary. You are accountable to me and every other American citizen for every single thing you do. We have a right to know what you are doing. We have a right to answers to our questions. You are not the emperor or the king. You do not rule us. I know you'd prefer it that way as you've said so before, but you don't.

4. You are going to lose next year. Badly. You are going to be humiliated in the election. And after that, when the history books are written about you, you will be remembered as the most corrupt, laziest, and all-around worst president this country has ever had.

See, I'm so mad I couldn't just leave it at one thing. Your turn, fellow DUers. Bring it on.

9. excuse me MR
ohhh, I hate that "American taxpayers" line. How the hell does he know what taxpayers think? He only ever talks to corporations and CEOs.

my fantasy: to personally meet Mr Bush and refuse to address him as "President" or "President Bush". He is Mr Bush to me, and always will be. How much would that piss him off?? Since the day after he was installed, and stated he was the President of all Americans whether you voted for him or not, I have refused to refer to him under any circumstances as President. I only recognize legitimate Presidents, and GW is and always will be Mr Bush.

Yes, Virginia, there was a President Bush, and he served from 1988-1992. During the years of 2000-2004, the White House was occupied by a filthly little liar who didn't deserve it.

11. I also thought "resign" but
then Dick Cheney becomes President. And after him? Just another collection of loser neo-cons and plain old ordinary cons.

We just have to work real hard to get rid of ALL of them in November.

Meaning that no matter whom is elected, Bush's occupation of Gore's house is very soon to end.
