Local Radio Host: Re Saddam Capture (Grrr....)
My local radio station's host is usually an idiot, but a harmless idiot by and large. He's your typical morning radio jockey for your drive into work, complete with the witless banter. This morning, he was, like everyone else, talking about the capture of Saddam Hussein. Here's a sample of his comments:

"I don't think people are giving our troops and our PRESIDENT (his emphasis) enough credit in all of this. And a lot of people are talking about jobs and the economy and the stock market but I say WHO CARES!? That's not as important as the fact that we got this guy. Now all we have to do is get his BROTHER Osama bin Laden. You know that Saddam knows where Osama has been hiding and all we have to do is get him to talk and we'll have Osama too!"

Luckily, that was when I pulled into my parking space and turned my car off. I had no idea this guy was a right-wing nutjob Republican, I just thought he was just your normal, cookie-cutter variety inane morning radio host. The thing is, though, that there are people who BELIEVE this kind of crap. And there are probably people out there who were listening to the radio this morning and now actually think that Saddam is Osama's brother, and that Saddam knows where he is.

:grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr:

2. I would hope so
I would think he meant "his brother in arms (terrorism or 9/11)" rather than actual brother? Or, maybe Islamic brother?

I don't know, the guy sounds like an idiot.

5. No, The Guy Was Serious

It's dumb, but not any more dumb than all the people who thought that Saddam was responsible for 9/11.

In fact, it's no wonder that everyone is so psyched that we caught Saddam.... he was so god-like in his ability to be on all four of the planes that crashed on 9/11 -- and survive -- and STILL have the time to gas all of his people and build huge stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction, all of which were aimed at Wichita. (Now THAT'S sarcasm)

3. I think you're right...
...just like the brainless idiots who believed and still believe that * flew the fighter jet that landed on the aircraft carrier.

That's the biggest problem with commercial radio today. The majority of the public likes these mindless idiots whose only claims to fame are their willingness to do anything as long as it's outrageous. And because they buy that garbage, they buy anything these guys say.

It's absolutely frightening.

4. I poll a saw a couple weeks back
still had 43% of Americans believeing that Saddam had something to do with 9/11 - this inspite of the fact that Bush has stated that he had nothing to do with 9/11 (which apparently changed the minds 20+ percent of Americans that they weren't involved thanks to heavy implications by Bush Co.).

The genius here is that Karl Rove gets it both ways ... a certain large percentage of people believe he was involved AND Chimp can say that he's on the record as saying that they weren't involved.

I'm with you ... :grr: :grr:
