Rumsfeld: In the end, Saddam "not terribly brave."
Edited on Mon Dec-15-03 05:24 AM by LeviathanCrumbling
I just saw this quote and I had to make a comment about it. What is wrong with Rumsfeld? What did he want Saddam to do, put up a fight and kill some of our boys, the last thing we should ever do is ridicule our enemies for avoiding bloodshed.

1. Rummy wanted to sit back in his little media room
and watch the live spy satellite feed of the remnants of Hussein's army "bringing it on"! He's just all pissy that he didn't get some entertainment out of the deal.

/sarcasm = off

2. Oh yes
The American forces are a paragon of virtue in this regard.

What's brave about destroying troop formations from 50,000 feet? What's brave about confronting a woefully equipped conscript army with the awesome weaponry wielded by U.S forces? What's brave about shocking and aweing civilian populations into submission? What's brave about being Defense secretary? What would Donald have done? My bet is soiled himself and begged for mercy.

Fuck Rumsfeld.

3. Fuck Rumsfeld is right.
I would have said it in my first post, but you know GD rules.
Rumsfeld is a low life ChickenHawk and has no business talking about bravery. Fuck him, fuck him right in the ear.

8. Speaking as a Former GI
What's wrong with using the weapons you have at hand when you're given a mission by the Commander in Chief?

Should we dumb ourselves down to deal with Freepers? Or use the tools that we have at hand?

Would you prefer that the military give away its weapons and take itself down to a strength and technology level equal to that of whoever they're employed agains?

5. In other words, Saddam wasn't much of a threat?
Saddam didn't have WMDs and Saddam isn't in control of the insurgency? Considering that we've lost over 400 Americans since the fall of Baghdad, capturing a homeless guy living in a hole in the ground is not necessarily good news.

6. I'm not sticking up for Saddam.............
but if Rummie had 160,000 soldiers looking for his twisted ass in every part of America, I would doubt his bravery as well. :eyes: What a dolt.
