Remember..this was about finding WMDs.
It had nothing to do with removing Saddam. I specifically remember Bush saying "No Regime Change."

So if some right winger tries to use this capture as something positive ask him why they lied .ask them if saddams capture was worth the thousands of people that died in the war to remove the two bit dictator hiding in a hole.

2. almost as good as...
... the video of Bush Sr. saying that going into Iraq was all about protecting Oil (he said this sometime in 1990 shortly after the invasion of Kuwait). The rhetoric quickly changed to 'protecting freedom' and the usual lies spouted by the facist right.

Then played it down to get the UN resolution.

4. No it wasn't
It was about stringing along the sheeple with dreams of revenge against the A-Rabs for 9-11. It was about giving the Asterisk an ego boost by insulting the sane Western democracies of "Old Europe" and playing at being a modern Ceasar. It was about distracting Americans with real questions and concerns about our past forgeign policies and our place in the world after 9-11 and in the War on Terror by creating illusionary threats to our country - in Iraq - where none had existed before.

But most of all it's about giving Bush's friends and business partners gobs and gobs of cash.

6. Are you sure?
It had nothing to do with removing Saddam. I specifically remember Bush saying "No Regime Change."

I don't think so, but you could be right.

Trouble is that half the country thinks Saddam attacked us on 9/11 and that he was ready to do something else asap. Always the fear, and always it comes from the U.S. thinking that the rest of the world is jealous of us and wants to bring us down.
