The deanforamerica.com site is now at 245,316.20. Won't be long before we hit the 250,000 mark which Cheney will rake in on Monday.

I cannot wait to see the news when they usually talk about the HUGE sums of money the Bushies took in. Howard Dean will eclipse them and the story will be about Howard Dean. Yes!

We always have to go way beyond the target to get any attention....

I think $350,000 would of been a better target because they will lie and say something to the contrary.

The cool thing about all this is that they end up measuring us with them in the same league which is defeats their mission to marginalize Dean.

6. Going way beyond the target is what the second bat is all about.

The campaign put the question of what to do about the goal out to the blog when it became obvious this afternoon that we'd pass $250,000 tonight. The decision was not to set a new goal but to put out another bat and let people fill it up as far as possible with hourly updates tomorrow. It was a great compromise among many opinions posted by ordinary Dean supporters.

3. Noone on the planet can defeat BushCo's corporate fundraising

Bush gets $2,000 donations per person from the extremely wealthy (note, they'll be using soft money to pay for his convention, also), and Bush gives them them their money back in the form of tax cuts for the wealthy and corners cut on regulations that would otherwise help consumers and folks near their sources of pollution.

Dean, however, gets the majority of his donations from folks who can't afford to give $2K. And he has *alot* of folks contributing: 4,533 in the past 3 days, alone, giving nearly $250K, total. The fact that Dean has this many folks who are giving this much money to him, is a first in American politics and is amazing.

I love the energy! I love the snubing of shrub! I love the people on the blog and all the Ideas! I love that they listen and harness all of this energy!
