CBS: Bush supporter, to Bush: "You betrayed me."
Edited on Sun Jul-27-03 05:48 PM by FlashHarry
Anyone else see this? It was the mother of a soldier in Iraq. Once a staunch Bush supporter, she looked into the camera and said, "you betrayed me."

Wow. Pretty heavy stuff.

14. Hell yes we were right.
The day after the 2000 election I told a friend "the Republians are going to steal the election". He told me I was nuts. A year later he reminded me of that and remarked how shocked he was that I was right. The morning of September 11 when I turned on my TV set, my first thought was "Bush has done this". History will show that I was right. When Osama started to morph into Saddam I told a coworker "Bush is going to exploit 9/11 to invade Iraq". I was right. WE WERE ALL RIGHT. And I am so damn sick of being right I can't begin to tell you.

17. sometimes being right is ok
i had the same thoughts as you did, however, in my gut throughout this mis-administration i also have said and felt that these guy are just too damn arrogant and stupid not to F I UP!!! the end is not here yet but i do think most here will agree in this i will also be proven right.

unfortunately the cost has been very high in blood, treasure and world opinion. on the good side i also feel our country, to an extent, is self healing and this is the start. getting these guys out of office, exposing their crimes and the backlash of public opinion in this country (which is basically good) will try to make things right.

am i overly optimistic??

2. It's true, he did
He has betrayed a lot of decent people who were unable to see through him from the start.

7. I don't buy that
These people willingly signed on to the Smirk agenda of death and destruction and racism and conquest. They were yelling at the war protesters, bad-mouthing the Dixie Chicks for saying what we all knew, licking Smirk's fat ass, and cheering for war like it was a fricking football game.

Now that it hurts them personally, they are whining about it. Screw em.

They get no redemption unless they overwhelmingly vote out the junta.

6. "Who cares what you think?"

He son was an adult, and Bush betrayed him, not her. She is just a chump who bought the crap because she didn't spend the time to think about her decision to support Bush.

Edited on Sun Jul-27-03 06:02 PM by amen1234
the Democratic Party...she woke up and her son is dead...she will likely need to vent out this horror by focussing her energies on getting the shrub OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE....

my cousin was KILLED in Vietnam (Charlie, 19 years old, silver star, purple heart)

and NOBODY should diss this woman...she got brainwashed, which is where shrub's whole cabal excels...put the blame where it belongs...on the entire criminal bush* cabal...

16. I agree. What else do they want?
People to never change their minds? To be Freeps forever? Nice.

It's sad that some people trusted Bush. It's disgusting that they ever were freepers. It's sad that people are only now waking up, but I find it repugnant that so many people here are insulting her.

Bush betrayed her. He betrayed her family. He betrayed all of us. He has committed treason and murder, imo. Bush preyed upon the spiritual beliefs, the patriotism, and the fear of so many Americans. That trust was wasted, but it's not this woman's fault that Bush is a criminal. She should not be faulted for changing her mind. Save the criticism for the morons who are aware of the facts and still believe.

19. Well said.
We should be thrilled that people are coming around. So maybe it wasn't as fast as we all would have liked, but I appreciate all conversions to the truth.

Would everyone be happier if there were no conversions? No changed minds? No hope?

27. Where Bush sows devision, and sells fear & war
we should sow the seads of unity, and sell healing and inlightenment.

This woman has been betraied. Where as we did try to warn her, how can we be cross if she didn't beleive us. She beleives us now I would not wonder.

But just becase she managed to start questoning Bush's brainwashing, dosn't mean she must confrom to our line of thinking. If we whip her now, she will only come to trust no one.

9. Day by day, voter by voter, Bush reveals his dishonesty and deceit and
his uncanny knack for turning everything he touches into shit. I call it his Fecal Midas Touch. And Poppy is his pooper scooper.

10. I find it hard to summon empathy.
I know I should and I'm really trying but I'm finding it hard. I just hope a lot more people like her wake up to realize just what kind of dangerous people to which they blindly handed the reins of this country.

13. I think many military people are programmed to believe
that the GOP is the 'pro-military' party, when they are, in fact, pro-defense-industry, and couldn't give a rat's ass about the soldier in the field.

22. Every day without WMDs is another day of not
proving the French/Germans wrong.

If they say "It wasn't about the WMDs!", point to Colin Powell's speech and ask them where he mentioned human rights violations (believe me, it's there, they just won't know it).
