Anybody but Dean or Lieberman
ABDL

I don't like Dean or Lieberman. But all the other top column candidates are fine, I like some over others but that is natural.

Dean reminds me of a used car salesman, I thought this was an apt comparison I saw in another thread today. I can see right through him. No sale.

Lieberman is good on some matters, like the environment, but he just couldn't get it done vs. Bush in my opinion.

He also already had a chance in an election vs. Bush (although as VP), time for someone new to run vs. Bush.

Kerry, Gephardt, and Edwards are all great candidates. And Clark would be fine, although I don't have as great as enthusiasm for him compared to the prior three.

22. it would help if you gave reasons
You're stated reason for disliking Dean is about as substantive as the right-wing's reasons for hating Hillary Clinton. "Just because!" doesn't cut it.

45. The used car salesman approach
is about as useful as making fun of Sharpton's hair, Kucinich's ears of Kerry's muppet face, but it is all unsubstantial, if you are interested in the issues. Don't be so shallow.

39. it's a no-win situation
Even when substantive rebuttals of Dean and his record are posted, it will still be dismissed as:

1. Rove memes.
2. You're a Bush-lover.
3. Flamebait.
4. "POOP!"

and so on...

So might as well post your gut reactions - which are as valid in politics as issues disagreement - and expect the usual suspects to take great offense. You have balls, which I admire.

47. Nice spin.
Even when substantive rebuttals of the drivel used to attack Dean are posted, the drivel just keeps on coming, repeat after repeat after repeat.

So, yeah, all I'm going to bother offering anymore is a gut reaction. This poster basically called Dean "slick."

Hmm. Whatever.

What's the point?

And what does that have to do with "balls?" Around here, this stuff is a dime a dozen.

57. and most Deanies on here...
...praise him with equally gut-reactive reasons. "He empowers me!" "He makes me feel like we can take this country back!" "I like his scrappy style!" Jesus, did I walk into an Anthony Robbins seminar?

But again, I do not think it is invalid for his supporters any less than I do his detractors, for it is after all, politics.

There was no spin in my post. "Spin" is so misused and overused. All I did was state my not-so-humble opinion, informed by repeat observations.

This will only hurt us in the general election.

I think he is almost if not just as likely a loser against Bush

He has a middle class tax increase, like Dean, and a 200 billion dollar increase in healthcare spending as his economic platform. He's also conjoined at the hip with big labor

All of these things should be avoided when wanting to turn the democratic parties perception around
