Dean is all the rage
You know the mainstream media's power exceeds its sound judgment and responsible stewardship when it abuses its control of a presidential debate to further its own ends rather than that of the public it purports to serve.

Based on the account by Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post, when 10 ABC News staffers met to draft questions for the upcoming Democratic presidential debate, ABC honchos were concerned not with advancing the public's knowledge of the candidates and their positions, but with their own ratings. How could they stir things up enough to stimulate viewership? At best, the public's edification would be an accidental byproduct.

-cut-
The answer, in a nutshell, is "rage" -- controlled perhaps, but rage nonetheless. You should see my e-mails from grassroots Democrats, or better yet, check out some of their Web sites, but beware the rage.

Howard Dean appeals to this rage, and Al Gore logically fits into the equation because much of the rage is still over the 2000 presidential election. So it makes perfect sense that Al Gore stabbed Joe Lieberman in the back and endorsed rage candidate Howard Dean. That Dean is all the rage!

3. Yep
And notice how Koppel singled out the African Americans and Little Person to marginalize?

And then the next day ABC pulled their campaign coverage completely.

All the while, John Edwards, the Pretty White Boy, still has coverage even though he's slipped below the Reverend Al Sharpton who contines to climb in the polls and now ties at 8% with John Kerry nationally.

Now when Al passes Kerry too what do you think the chances are they'll pull the reporters from either Edwards or Kerry's campaigns?

If they stuck with that plan pretty soon the only guy they'd be left covering is "Undecided".

Clearly this isn't really about the polls Koppel was obsessing over.
This is bold-faced, out in the open, ugly racism on the part of ABC News.

4. Gore didn't stab lieberman in the back by endorsing Dean
Edited on Fri Dec-12-03 01:59 AM by rustydog
Lieberman has/had and always will have no chance to be president and Gore recognizes this.
he is unelectable on the national scale. Can you say Dukakis? Mondale?

Gore went with a person he believes can beat Bush. Lieberman truly isn't the one.

7. They don't care about ratings. That's such a joke. Ask Donahue and
Scarborough if they care about ratings.

They care about getting Republicans elected.
