OBVIOUSLY Dean can't win, and will, in fact (from what I've read in Calrkie sentiments) lose if he is the Dem party nominee.

So y'all just quityerbitchin' now and go donate money to George Bush.

Many are saying it as I type this.

No, these folks have convinced themselves that Dean is a loser, and if they're going to act this way throughout the rest of the campaign, the Dems WILL lose.

10. because we want Bush out and we don't think your guy can do it.
How many times do you have to be told?

We will support Dean to the last drop of blood, just like the troopers at the Little Big Horn, but at the end of the road, baring Divine Intervention, he will lose and America will suffer because of it.

To us, it's just that simple. He's a great guy in some ways but there is no reason to think he's going to win against George Bush.

20. I get criticized for using the cult reference. . .
. . .but it is perfectly ok for Terwilliger to say that the Clark supporters are all going to vote for Bush if Dean wins the nomination? Oh thats right, I am the one that lacks class. I wonder what would have prompted me to say such things. . .it must be the respectful way us Clark supporters have been treated.

In truthfullness Ter didn't say Clark supporters were all going to
vote for Bush... he expressed frustration over the whole Dean is a lost cause arguement. I wouldn't have phrased it the way he did... but I understand it.

21. they don't want Bush, better off going independent or third party
Taking your point at face value, they wouldn't bother supporting Bush - since the whole point of a Clark candidacy is to get Bush out - they would be better off going independent or third party.

Frankly, with the way the Democrats drop to their knees every time the corporate media tells them too, I wouldn't be suprised if they just gave press to the Clark Bar Party and ignored the Democrats - hell, half the Democrats get ignored now and the rest don't give a shit.

41. I don't think Clark nor his fans would abandon the party
I'm just saying that the Clark people I know - and Clark has been my 1-3 choice for a long time - would not vote for Bush, under any circumstances.

There are many truthful things to criticize Clark about, and his fans on DU (including me) but supporting Bush is NOT one of them.

Edited on Thu Dec-11-03 06:46 PM by PurityOfEssence
Get a grip. The Clark-barkers are just the karmic backlash to the Deanie-weenies. Dean started by telling everyone what turncoats and lily-livers everyone else was, and has the silliness to get huffy when called to account for his own actions.

Some of your opponents may actually believe what they say. They may be sincerely concerned of your candidates viability. I'll bet that they'll mostly suck it up and even fight much harder should your guy get the nomination because of that fear of vulnerability. I hope that, if this comes to pass, you'll have the decency to let them know how noble they are when you meet them on the barricades in the upcoming general election. To say that they'd support Bush is revolting. To say that anyone who questions your guy's vulnerability is the enemy is just pissy.

That's what George Bush believes: "you're either with us or against us."

I'm just trying to figure out why these staunch (so-called) Democrats have said (and some have said) that they wouldn't support Dean after he gets the nom because they don't think he'll win.

Like I said...why wait? Just vote for Bush now.

29. I would sooner fall on my sword
than vote for the pretender...

I am probably guilty of some of the rhetoric Terwilliger refers to. The fact is that to win this upcoming election we must strive to push each of our candidates through the sharpener of the primaries, until one emerges as a suitable weapon for defeating Bush and his minions. So now let's carry on towards our common objective.

(sorry for the military language, I am feeling oppressed by my government.)

:grr:

I'd sooner eat rat poison than vote for Bush.

Do I think that Clark is the best one for the job? Yes.

Will I support Dean if he gets the nomination? Yes.

Do my Deanie friends think that Dean is the best one for the job? Yes.

Will they support Clark if he gets the nomination? All of them have said yes, they will.

May I ask why the hell you're doing Karl Rove's job for him? We all should be making damm sure that no matter which person gets the nomination, that we all support that person. All this sniping does is hurt *all* of us.
