"Are you better off than 4 years ago?"
Edited on Thu Dec-11-03 11:59 AM by kentuck
Remember when Reagan asked that question in 1980? It was very effective for him back then and it could be very effective for the Democrats this coming election. There is such a stark difference in our country today when contrasted with the previous 8 years that few people cannot help but notice the difference. Whether or not they want to say the difference is because of 9/11, the stock market, the recession, or whatever, they cannot deny that there is a big difference in our country today as opposed to the 1990's. And it is not for the better. It will not get better with 4 more years of Bush. They can blame all the bad things on someone else but sooner or later, they are going to have to accept responsibility for their leadership. The buck does stop with the person in charge.

1. Is anyone better off than they were four years ago.
Except for a handful of greedy old Bush friends and family, who for having sold their souls are really not better off either.

3. We are in far WORSE condition
than we were in 2000. If the 'crime family's medicare plan' is not stopped before it takes effect we will lose what state help we get for our prescription meds. According to our patient representative, at the clinic we go to, the medicaid assistance falls into the NO outside drug insurance plans clause the 'puklicans' stuck in to appease the drug manufacturers.

2. I see your point here
but something tells me that if we pulled that talking point Rove will just spin it to blame it all on the terrists which would just rachet up the "war on terra" as the best thing since sliced bread.

Just hit the bastards with the truth.

4. What truth would you "hit" them with?
We are trying to communicate something to the voters that they can identify with. The "truth" about some things may be too complex to put in a sound bite. And this is a soundbite electorate, I think?
