Well, my time here is up.
I'm giving up internet here at home for a while in protest to budget cuts. The state leg. will cut how much they pay into teacher health insurance by $500 per year. That's about what I pay for high-speed connection per year. I will pass this cut onto Time-Warner and I will let my legislator know what a grand job he is doing to help the economy. I'll be able to stay tuned at school this year. But I will definitely miss my high-speed connection at home. Let's start a "Leave No Teacher Behind" campaign.

4. I've been using netzero !
For a good 3 years now and it works great for me. Iam on a dial up and I pay $10 per month for their Platinum service(unlimited use) the free version ,limits your use to only 10 hours per month. I mostly use the net ,early in the morning when internet traffic is probably lite (between 5:00AM & 7:00AM). Its good enough for what I use the net for, surfing politicial web sites and Hi-Tech sites also !

3. Wow! I couldn't live properly without my DU2! But I know you
gotta do what you gotta do. It's like you just got started.

I'm sure this kinda thing is going on all over the Country. People giving up one thing or another. I 'm sorry it has to be DU2 for you.
And I'm really sorry about all the budget cuts for schools in Texas, too!

I gave up my news cable(big loss.-not) and all my magazine subscriptions so I can keep my "highspeed internet connection)

My sister protested in Albany, New York on May 3, 2003 for the budget cuts govenor paTacky was proposing. There were 50,000 of them at the Capital. I hope pataki is not long for this State!

Good Luck to the Teachers of Texas! The most important rescource! :kick:

5. Ours just increased 1300/yr
But that's better than last year when it went up 3600. Now we pay (family of 4, under 50 grand/yr) $8,500/yr. with a $200 deductable.

7. Sure do appreciate
the tips and commiseration. Yup, belt-tightening time. No eating out, Goodwill clothing, nothing on Visa. Thanks George.
