And that's all that Zell is doing right now. Before he was the democrat that voted Republican 90% of the time, he was just a low profile US Senator. Only citizens of Georgia or people like US who are into politics knew who he was. He probably figures that since he is retireing he might as well try and leave a legacy as the "great centrist".
