We were told it was a 6 hour firefight. Hmmmm…4 lightly armed Iraqis held off 200 Airborne Rangers for 6 hours??????????????

200 Airborne Rangers who had tanks, APC’s, machine guns, and helicopters couldn’t take out 4 Iraqis armed with only AK-47's???

Huh?

These two surely know where daddy Hussein is. Why couldn’t we have used tear gas, stun grenades, etc…to capture them alive??????

They used a great deal of fire power to kill them, when they knew who they were in advance. Something doesn’t smell right.

Anybody that believes that the dreaded duo is anywhere near Iraq and were killed by US troops is a moron...period.

The photographs bear no resemblence whatsoever and an Al-Jazeera poll showed 80% of Iraqis dont believe the story.

2. In my view, bush was trying to shock and awe Hussein

and smoke him out to see his boys only it didn't work! Whether or not it was or was not them bush thoght he would get Hussein out in the light of day and capture him because he's desperate at this point. His polls are sunk, all the lies have been exposed and he thinks if he captures Hussein everyone will start waving the flags and he'll be a hero with a 90% poll rating. That's all he cares about and it's pathetic!

3. Another bungled production

The photos barely resembled the brothers.

The men in the photos looked beaten and tortured.

The assassinations had the good timing to happen when the dam of lies was staring to show stress fractures.

Release of the photos was supposedly was to show Iraqs that the Hussein era is over, yet it made them martyrs.

4. Dead bodies

Have you guys ever seen dead bodies? I have, and they rarely resemble the person during thier life, especially whe they die a violent death. Also what would happen if they arent dead? one day they show up on TV with tthe pictures of thier own dead bodies? can you imagine the scandal? Nope sorry my friends that really was the dead Hussiens, to much of a risk to lie about it.

if you think that lying about dead Hussein brothers is a stretch for them. Too much risk? That lie is a walk in the park to this bunch. Who is going to call them on it?

The U.S troops in the attack are the cream of the cream.... They would have taken these guys in a matter of minutes. It just don't wash!

9. I've seen a dead body of someone who was shot in the head..

he was not as 'beaten' and 'swollen' as those two. He looked enough like himself that there wasn't a huge doubt for some - unfortunately :-(

11. Some more thoughts on this (a little late I know) . . .

After spending 8 years as a TOW gunner in first the Army then the National Guard, I can state as a fact that there is now way in hell a TOW missile is required to assault a building.

It's an anti-tank weapon for Pete's sake. It can destroy (or severely damage) a T-72 heavy tank from 2 miles away.

Now as far as I know, houses don't have reactive armor (an armor which actually explodes outward when hit to deflect a round). So a missile designed to defeat reactive armor is just a tad bit of overkill don't you think?

Any person with a military history can also tell you that NOTHING about this attack fell within normal military procedures for MOUT (military operations in urban terrain).

Notice how many cameras there were that got perfect shots of TOW missiles being launched? That's a really tricky picture to shoot and the photographer somehow got a perfect angle for it.

My opinion since I first read the story was that it was just another dog and pony show put on for the media (and the gullible American public).
