Hersh writes and speaks like no other American reporter.

His work is almost bulletproof/

10. But even Seymour Hersh is limited by what he is allowed to say about

Israel. One caller asked him to explain the Lavon affair for viewers and to indicate if he thought 9/11 was similar. He immediately stated his view that he didn't believe that 9/11 was a similar affair BUT he never would explain the Lavon Affair for the viewers! Claimed he forgot most of the details!! UNREAL!! AMAZING the extent to which Israel influences this country, its policies, and its information.

Anyone who knows what the Lavon affair was knows that there aren't that many details to remember. Israeli agents carried out terrorist bombings on US interests in Egypt and blamed it on the Muslim Brotherhood to try and sour the US on Nasser.

There just aren't that many details to "forget". However, I don't believe 9/11 was similar, bin Ladin and the will to attack us over our policies toward the Muslim world and the Palestinian question in particular are very real. I don't think people need to be coddled from the truth but I can see why Hersh wouldn't want to touch that with a ten foot poll.

I found it actually frightening.

Sy, what a guy! And, unfortunately, he's the ONLY one doing what he does at the level he does it. Loftus and others seem to get dribs and drabs, but Hersh gets the whole enchilada.

I'll have to check the tape to confirm, but I believe he said that Israeli operators were not only training our guys at Ft Bragg, etc., but were actually operating in Iraq under deep cover. Christamighty!

The thing that worries me most about TF 121 is that it is cobbled together from other special TF/units. It disturbs me because the effectiveness of these dedicated warriors comes largely from years and years of training and operating very closely together, until you know which direction your buddy will turn in a given situation, who a muffled cough came from, who backs up the guy who's got your back, etc. That cohesion does not come simply because Rumsfield or Boykin snap their twisted fingers.
