E-Voting Gets a Few Minutes on Coast to Coast
Listening to a refeed of the July 9 Coast to Coast show with Noory's guest Lauren Weinstein, and I myself only caught the last part of the call, a guest called in about E-voting. Weinstein is a guy who deals with privacy and technology, according to the PR on him.

Some of the quotes on E-voting, which may pertain more to the Internet, I didn't get all of it,
"Think about taking over a country with a PC," and,
"The ramnifications of Internet voting are awful."

Weinstein has a web site at: http://www.vortex.com/

At present, near the top, is Fact Squad Radio- Hacking the Vote.

Clicking on that will take you to a page where you can listen to a 1-3 minute blurb on E-voting. (Better than we could, I hope)

Getting this on Coast is a big deal. Coast has a huge audience even if it is in the middle of the night. Noory didn't immediately cut it off, which the weekend host Simpson would have done. Coast is Premiere Radio Networks which is Clear Channel.

Just a few minutes, but a breakthrough.

Another venue to push. Write to Noory and ask to have Bev on, while we wait for the really big guns to get up to speed. Coast's audience is huge.

1. Hmmm... that's interesting
I send to so many media outlets that I usually hardly remember which, but I remember taking Coast to Coast out of the blast, because voting is a little out of their coverage profile, but then I actually scrolled back and selected them for a contact.

Coast to Coast is a huge, huge show, so I'll continue to work on that, but help from other quarters will certainly help!

Bev

2. Make sure it's Noory.....
....and not Simpson on the weekends. She just won't tolerate any line of discussion about what the administration is doing.

Coast is into a lot of technical things. Maybe you could have Rubin on with you?

Sweeten the pot. I don't know how controlled they are. They'll say things like they've never been told what to air. Lately, snips of things get in.

If you work on the potential and the obvious sham of the current certification system, that might get their interest.

Rubin, maybe Jefferson, who is on the list for the NASED conference ending today in Maine, (Boy,would I like to be a little mouse in the corner there....)and Bruce Schneier, the guru of Internet security, but who has a no-holds barred opinion of Touch Screen voting.

I think Noory would wither and die before he'd give up a chance with a group like that!

Meanwhile, do visit Weinstein's site and click on the little, sarcastic blurb about E-voting. Maybe he'll let you link to it.
