Buchanan: Gore endorsement so Gore can take over Dean movement in '08
"He wants to position himself as the next leader of that. Why else does Al Gore - a fairly conservative person take a bold almost rash move like this. People in politics and the Clintons have to see that."

This will put him in good position to run against Hillary in 2008. I hope that this is not the truth. If Gore wants to see the country under 4 more years of Bush so he can get in on 2008 he has lost this ex-Goreite's support and probably many others.

2. You know
if all the people who want Dean to lose don't quit supporting him, he might just dissapoint them.

3. Hmmmm
I wonder if Buchannan is the most likely sourse for solid information on what Gore is thinking. But you 10 to 1 Rush will present a similar analysis on his show. And Hannity, for that matter.

But one has to wonder, how exactly would they know? Or are they just basing their conclusion on their already admitted extreme disdain for Gore and Dean?

4. 2008?
Of all the hare-brained ideas I've seen floating around, this one takes the cake.
Why would Gore need to endorse anybody to run in 2008?

Makes sense to me...

7. Dean's mailing lists?
In all honesty, Dean's list of campaign donors would be a nice exchange for an endorsement at this point.

10. So far I have seen this Gore vs. Clinton lie spouted today from:
Clifford May
Imus
Tucker Carlson
Dick Morris
...and now Buchanan

And where I live, it's not even 10:30 a.m. yet.

Listen carefully and keep a running list. There will be more.

34. Torie Clark
She said the same thing on CNN with Aaron Brown last night. Gore wants to be the leader of the young techie smart movement of the future.

Look, everything he's doing is forward thinking. The television network will be aimed at young people, remember.

Some think he is setting things up for his daughter Karenna.

11. The Cable Pundits were crawling all over that this a.m. Propagada to take
the spotlight over Gore's endorsement of Dean, and make it about the "dreaded/hated Clinton's and the "bumbling Gore."

I had Imus on this a.m. and the folks on his show, plus the MSNBC Whores and Cafferty and Crew on CNN were all dissing Gore for being "late" and how this was all a Clinton Plot for 2008 or a Gore Plot.

Who cares what they think!

19. You noticed that too? It's fairly obvious that this is the new
RW tactic.

The sad thing is that some here on DU believe it!

To me it's so obvious that it's almost laughable.

27. The Repub spin is wild....
I have been hearing this BS Spin and I can't for the life of me understand why people here are falling for it.

My other favorite spin I saw on Fox, (which sadly, I suspect I will see here) is that if Dean doesn't win Big in Iowa and New Hampshire, it means that his support is slipping...

Wake up people. Look who is saying this crap and then ask yourself, what agenda these people have.

13. kinda like your plan to destroy United We Stand
there's a grass roots movement you crushed in 2000.

I read this shit from Buchanan and it's effectively saying the Democratic grass roots needs to be crushed into total impotence in order for the GOP oligarchy to finalize it's complete take over of the US government.

in a Dean Administration..Bush has done a lot of damage to the environment.. I could see Gore being interested in trying to correct those assaults.

18. I had to chuckle at your post because
last night my husband told me basically the same thing about what some guy's theory is on this. He told him that the Gore endorsement was a CLINTON insider move. Gore endorses Dean. Dean will lose the 2004 and put Bush in office for another 4 years and sets Hillary up for 2008. Gore wasn't part of the scenario, aside from the endorsement...just the Clintons. If Dean wins, how does that set Gore up for 2008 if Dean runs for a second term? Doesn't make sense. I wonder what happens when the Clintons come out in support of Clark? We already know that there's 2 winners...Clark and Hillary. Bill said so. :)How does the Hillary factor come into play in 2008 if Clark wins? or Gore, for that matter. None of that makes sense if we win the GE. Whoever wins will probably run for a second term. If they do....no Gore or Hillary in 2008.

Gore is not conservative, though he was farther right years ago.
Dean is not terrible liberal but maybe liberal enough.
Gore is not doing this for any reason except those he stated.

24. Like 2004 wouldn't have been Al's renomination if he wanted it?
Really, what candidates would not have supported Gore's decision to run? Would any of the current candidates tried to counter Gore's unique and rightful claim to rerun against Bush? I sincerely doubt that 2008 would have been a better year for Al to run than this year.

38. Motivation. Oh, yes indeed.
over the years some folks have gotten good at posting curious things here on DU.

Not great at it, but gettin'-some-pay-good.

It pays to think twice. Sometimes it's good to ignore things, and it's always a good idea to stay on an even keel and stick to the facts.

Of course, not all curious things are deliberate flame-bait.

He's apoplectic and diving right into this at the beginning of his show!

Yelling! Screaming about the division in the Dem party!

So now it's:

Clifford May
Imus
Tucker Carlson
Dick Morris
Buchanan
Rush Limbaugh

Oh, wait...arendt, in another thread, added a libertarian on "The Connection." I'll add his name in a minute.

Edit: Dick Gordon
