Clark campaigner promoting Hillary Clinton conspiracy theories
Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 11:26 PM by pruner
"One person close to General Clark suggested that Mr. Gore was supporting Dr. Dean in the calculation that Dr. Dean would lose to Mr. Bush in November, and that Mr. Gore would then enjoy the good will of Dean supporters "when he runs against Hillary Clinton in 2008."

1. Mr. Gore's endorsement is suspect
for reasons of his timing... leave out other innuendo... that is enough... it is against democracy, as was counting only 2 florida counties... he's lost touch with democracy.

12. okayyeahsureright!
:eyes:

do you even know what the law was in florida about recounts? Gore did not have the legal option to call for a statewide recount unless bush agreed.

13. he could have called for it
It would have been the proper legal behaviour, as it put in question his entire jibe that democracy was his interest.

Why does the documentary film "http://unprecedented.org" conclude with a contrary position to your statement?

3. What BS Spin by Adam at the NYT - "one person close to Clark"
One person close to General Clark suggested that Mr. Gore was supporting Dr. Dean in the calculation that Dr. Dean would lose to Mr. Bush in November, and that Mr. Gore would then enjoy the good will of Dean supporters "when he runs against Hillary Clinton in 2008."

then Adam goes on "General Clark, in an appearance on Monday evening on the MSNBC news program "Hardball With Chris Matthews," said he was unconcerned with Mr. Gore's decision. "I don't pay attention to endorsements, unless they are for me," he said."

and then Adam forgets Clark's comment that folks like Hillary are patriots who do things for their country and not in some twisted conspiracy to have an effect on 08.

God, what a media whore!

4. gossip column politics
Al Gore's endorsement is news. Speculation by unnamed sources is gossip. Not particularly important in choosing a president.

6. agreed…
I know Dean's not your guy, but what are your thoughts about the Gore endorsement?

I haven't bothered to read through the 100+ post threads on the subject.

16. I guess Dean ain't your guy either.
You don't see Dean doing a smear job like what you're doing, based on right wing innuendo.

8. This is a Pruner thread.
He has to find something to post to lay down astroturf for Dean at least a few times a day. Sometimes, well, often, he scrapes pretty low in the attempt. This was one of those times.

I sure wish all of these effing Clinton conspiracy theories would "jump the shark" :puke:

Edit: by the way, your thread title is bullshit; the articles says "one person close to Clark" -- that does not mean it is being actively promoted by his campaign. Not that I expect you to care.

11. uuuummm no
that is just silly. What good would backing a losing candidate do for him in 2008? That would be a very bad move and Gore just ain't that dumb.

14. as was mentioned over on Eschaton...
all the Washington Heathers are going nuts over this. No conspiracy, no Gore v. Clinton, it is what it is. Gore backed Dean. I'm sure his motives are pretty much the same as those on this board who are already on the Dean wagon and nothing more. He's gotta vote next year too.
