I can't stand him, but I do feel for his situation right now. As a Clark supporter, I can't say that I am too happy right now. It's funny too because of all the Dean supporters talk about how they don't like the establishment and the DLC...and Gore is both.

If Lieberman drops out, his supporters won't vote for Dean, IMO.

5. Think of it this way

It's not that we're validating Gores stance or relationship with the DLC, we know that he has SPLIT with the DLC if he's endorsing Gore, so you have the prodigal son thing. More importantly, we're happy about how this will affect the campaign itself.

6. Guess you weren't paying attention to Gore's speeches last year

and this year. He definitely reconnected with is centrist-populist roots that he espoused in his book "Earth in the Balance."

Gore's Sep 23, 2002 speech on Iraq was the most anticipated speech last year. Gore warned the Democrats not to be fooled into Bush's war trap, but that didn't stop Kerry, Edwards, Gephardt, and Lieberman from diving head first into it.

Both Gore and Dean opposed Bush's Iraq war and that was the biggest reason I ended up supporting Dean, and Dean in his April 2003 Commondreams.org op ed, quoted Gore's Sep 23, 2002 speech in his op ed.

From last year to this one, Al Gore is a lot closer to Dean than he is to Al From's DLC clones. One of the reasons that I ended up supporting Dean was that Dean's stances on many issues I supported or were concerned about were similar to Gore's.

He loved what W did with terrorism. Also, Gore advocated a vote AGAINST. dean was for Biden Lugar. So there.
