Rally around the Democratic flag
Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 04:37 PM by KensPen
How fierce and how long will the candidates continue to claw for the nomination. Under most circumstances I understand why a bloody fight happens. BUT........

Hopefully when the writing is on the wall, as it seems it is, and one nominee is clearly going to win. I hope the party pulls together QUICKLY and rallies around the standard bearer.

We can ill afford to lose in '04.

1. the subject of your post..
Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 04:15 PM by ThirdWheelLegend
Is "Rally around the Dean flag".

Yet you ask dems to rally around the nominee?
Are we supposed to give up hope of real change before the first primary happens?

TWL

ON EDIT:
Okay you edited the title, thanks.

20. it's "Democratic flag" - not "Democrat flag"
Please correct the title, many find the improper use of the adjective form of Democratic to be incredibly frustrating.

It's Democratic Flag, like the Democratic Party, and we are Democrats.

2. As a Dean supporter
As a Dean supporter, I wish you'd change your subject line to "Rally round the Dem flag." This isn't any way to win over supporters of other candidates.

8. I agree also----please edit your subject line to the "Dem Flag"
Being arrogant if Dean gets the nomination won't help us get DU supporters.

4. Dean isn't the only candidate...
While Dean may be a good candidate for office, he is certainly not the only one.

Let's get a better view at all the Democratic candidates before we decide on one.

10. You Are Correct......
I should have said the "Democrat Flag"

It certainly is premature to proclaim him victor.

I am not a "Dean man" but it is beginning to appear as though he won't be unseated from his front runner status and will eventually win.

In years past a viscious mud sling fest could be held to try to change momentum.....
I just don't see that type of primary to be one that serves the best interest of the party.

Just as a Nader type candidacy is often a good forum to get a message across to the masses. This election I am hoping all people of a liberal mindset will coalesce around the democratic nominee.

17. DU didn't use to
Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 04:20 PM by goobergunch
This is DU2, which premiered on July 6. DU1 (1/20/2003-7/6/2003) did not have title editing. It's possibly the greatest feature of DU2.

18. It's DemocratIC, Ken, IC--DemocratIC
"Democrat" is a noun. "Democratic" is an adjective. One of the many Bushevik propaganda startegies is to call it the "Democrat Party" or the "Democrat falg".

It is slur and it is meant to bear resemblence to another slur of the Bushevik Base.

"Jew Lawyer".

Not "Jewish Lawyer", "Jew Lawyer".

Same type of slur.

Not to be nitpicky, but every time one of us calls it the derogatory "Democrat Party", we carry water for the Bushjevik Scum and Monsters who wish to destroy America in order to possess the ashes.

Just thought I'd let you know, Ken.

19. uuuuhh beavis...
That's why!!! i was wondering what was so wrong, as American is also a noun, and "american flag" might be also similarly divisive.

Thanks for saying so... i din't get why it was a slur... the bolshevik influence...
