But Hood said making a paper trail a statewide requirement is not necessary because Florida has multiple safeguards to assure the accuracy and security of touch screens, which are used in Palm Beach County and 14 other counties.

8. Saw the same thing

That quote just leapt right out at me. In fact that quote threatened to leap off my monitor and drink my coffee for me.

It made me think of that scene from, umm, Naked Gun 3 1/2? where Leslie Nielson is a policeman standing in front of a Fireworks Plant after a spectacular car crash, surrounded by roman candles going off etc, telling the gathering crowd "Nothing to see here folks! It's all over, nothing to see here!".
