Baptists and New Orleans, Part Dieux

Baptists and Gays will have their bashes in New Orleans the 1st and 2nd weeks in September next year as previously posted. (Candidates for President may be invited). The Baptists tried to get the city to pony up one million bucks but the Mayor politely said no. HOWEVER, The President of the Baptists' Louisiana Chapter admitted that the group had to "make good" on $88,000 it owed the "city or state" from its last visit to New Orleans in 1994 before the most recent negotiations began on the 2004 meeting. Baptists not making financial commitments? What would God Think??

I SINCERELY hope that the Democratic candidates stay away. While I love it, I don't really think we need that particular image two months before an election! :evilgrin:

What a nightmare, Clark or Dean etc in the French Quarter surrounded by riotous homosexuals and transvestites drinking, smoking, and, occasionally, having sex in the street. Kind of tempts me to go next year.
