Daily Howler Catches Obvious RNC Talking Points Being Repeated on FOX
Two different gas bags, two different shows, identical "error" about words Hillary Clinton spoke to reporters in Afghanistan.

http://www.dailyhowler.com/dh120303.shtml

Let’s start with Dick Morris’ slithering appearance on the O’Reilly Factor. Morris was sent there to stir up the rubes. His misstatements started immediately:

MORRIS: She went to Iraq, she went to Afghanistan—she went right into the middle of a combat zone and exercised the right of free speech she should have exercised state side while she was in the combat zone. She told the American soldiers…that most Americans don’t agree with what they’re doing; that there’s strong debate over the Bush Administration; that success is not assured; that there aren’t enough troops to do the job. And you don’t say this to the men and women that the next day are going to have to go out and risk their lives.

Of course, Morris was making almost all of this up (details below; see THE DAILY HOWLER, 12/2/03)....

....One hour later, it was Hannity’s turn. The doctor was IN—William Bennett:

HANNITY: Dr. Bennett, good to see you. Thank you. Hillary also said that the outcome of this is not certain. She said that to the troops when she was there…I find that very—highly inappropriate. Do you know?

3. Debunking the Bushevik Party-Loyal Sub-Media and Corporate TV Pravda
is as important a job as those brave souls who dared speak the truth in the Old Soviet Union.

For the moment, Somersby is in no physical danger. But I wouldn't bet on that in 2010 and especially I wouldn't bet on whomever tries to carry on his work in the Amnerikan Empire in 2030, during the reign of George P. Caligula.

6. Fox News Liars
They do this kind of stuff all the time. The problem is that they use enough truth to make their lies seem credible. It gets repeated enough times that everyone believes it. Give it a week and these neocon idiots will be telling people that she went to Iraq and told the troops that nobody likes them and that they are going to lose. Meanwhile, I dare anybody to find a senator who has done more for military families then Senator Clinton. Damn this burns my britches!!!

9. It's not just FOX. It's the RNC propaganda machine.
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 03:00 PM by BurtWorm
They're all of one piece. FOX is RNC. I wonder if a campaign to make that equation a household phrase would hurt or help. I can see flooding FOX shows with e-mails and letters and faxes accusing them of being RNC parrots. People can picket outside FOX News (I could and would. I'm right here in NY) with signs to that effect. Tip off CNN to the demo, and if it's large enough, they'd be sure to cover it, maybe even make an issue out of the question "Is Fox an arm of the RNC?" a subject for Crossfire, Paula Zahn, Hans Christian Cooper, Aaron Brown, whatever. I think it might actually hurt FOX, which would help the level of discourse somewhat.

10. Is there a more repulsive human being than Dik Morris?
I think not. And Fox is the network equivalent to morris.

Im sure the right wing only wants victory for political reasons. It has nothing to do with soldiers lives. If they cared so much why not give them enough pay so they dont have to get food stamps to eat? Why would they fight against combat pay raises(they retracted yea I know) Why would they send these guys into a quagmire? Yea they really care. Hypocritical bastards.

11. Morris is also saying H and Dems want to force the draft
Morris is spreading the idea -- a new low for this political bottom-dweller -- that the reason that Hilary and other Democrats are calling for more troops is to force Bush to reinstitute the draft and that the Democrats hope to cash in on the resulting backlash. What goes through this dickhead's brain?

15. Peggy Noonan just repeated this lie on Hardball
Tweety didn't say a word, he was even bigger a whore than O'Reilly. At least O'Reilly took a stab at being a journalist, Tweety didn't say a word.

16. ya know , I was thinking about this post
These bottom dwellers know theyre lying and we cant win when media is lying . Morris actually said "she said this to the soldiers" it was a well thought out lie to piss Americans off and turn them against the Dems. And it is now forever engrained in the minds of anyone who was watchimg (millions) that she made this statement to soldiers in a war. . How can we fight this? How can we? We dont have a Fox and I dont think we would sink this low if we did.

So what can we do about something like this? Im seriously looking for an answer on how we can stop stuff like this.

21. "I'm seriously looking for an answer"
I totally agree Ksec-we need to find a way to combat this. I think comedy like Jon Stewart making fun of them helps but it isn't enough. This is important as there are too many votes affected by these lies and it may make a difference in the outcome of the election. This must have happened before or elsewhere and there must be a technique to effectively combat it. Is there a website dedicated to faux like cnnlies?

18. I heard the trio of AM idiots mention "talking points" the other morning
The blond twit and the two dolts. One of them said something about "going on to their next talking point." Wasn't there a post recently about some former FAUX employee who said that the higher ups put out their talking points daily? They're all just following the script.

19. Read the Daily Howler archives for more evidence of this RNC agit-prop
machinery. The lazy asses all over the media just ate up every fax spilling into their office from Ratfuckers Central. And I don't see any internal reform movement among the media that has taken place since 2000.

20. There are a lot of mainstream media figures who spout RNC boilerplate
Seriously, can anyone look at the election of 2000 without believing that? The "Al Gore says he invented the Internet" claim is pretty much part of popular culture at this point. The Washington Post, The New York Times, and others pretty much swallowed whole anything that came out of the GOP.

I do call CNN when they are particularly obnoxious (and that's not just on political issues; they are equally revolting on other matters). I can't bring myself to watch Fox but should probably try, if only to take names...

If the goddamned outcome is assured, then bring the friggin boys home and don't leave them there to get shot at every day.
