Freepers rejoice at Nader news, visit DU to enjoy our pain
I don't need to repeat their comments but you can look at one of several threads here:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1032009/posts
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1032372/posts

But I actually did find something good posted there:

5. Nader's shot his wad- He's done; stick a fork in him.
File him in the 'fool me once...' category. All that's left is smoke and mirrors.

He will be a non-issue next November; bank on it.

Rim Job over at the "Free" Republic has been banning everyone that dosen't toe the ShrubC propaganda line. According to Alexes, their traffic has dropped off dramatically and heading south.

But I don't care. They're being milked out of more than a quarter-a-million per year to fuel their greed.

Let them devour each other.

67. The great irony of Free Republic
Way back in 1999, the vast, vast majority of freepers hated Bush and were lined up behind lunatics like Alan Keyes, Gary Bauer, and Pat Buchanan. I know because I was an active freeper at the time (albeit a moderate/liberal Republican supporting John McCain). RimJob even went so far as to post literally dozens of documents about Bush's cocaine habit and AWOL problems, and begged his fellow freeps to stop the GOP establishment from annointing Bush.

But when Bush got the nomination they all lined up behind him and have been kissing his ass ever since. Especially RimJob. They even have a daily "pray for President Bush" thread and a "daily dose of Dubya" thread where everyone can drool over recent pics of our "brave, strong commander in chief." :eyes:

What a difference four years makes.

I don't think much of Dean's assertions, though, especially given all his mouth problems. For me, Dean can only prove himself by his actions. He can say he's against corporate excesses all day without actually having to do something about it.

...for example, the theory that he and Hillary are trying to sabotage Dean (or any other potential frontrunner) to ensure a Junior win in 2004 and allow an easy win for Hillary in 2008.

If there were ever enough actual evidence to support such allegations, I would be the first to go on record and cordially invite Bill and Hillary to fuck themselves. And I already have no use for McAuliffe as it is.

41. That's part of it
I still think Gore was micro-managed by the DLC, so he never had a chance to gain a wider acceptance. But Nader criticized the party because of what Gore represented. Even if Kerry were a more charismatic type, he'd still be pushing the centrist policies that have usurped the party over the last 15 years or more. That needs to be addressed, or the idea that the Democratic party is still moving to the right will not be dispelled.

37. And like Pavlov's f*cking dog, DU reacts at the sound of Nader's name...
I'm on a few Green party mailing lists. I just did a search of my archives, and the word 'Nader' hasn't been used on them for almost 12 months, and that was in relation to something else entirely. If he runs, it's going to be as an independent, and will be electorally inconsequential. If the Greens nominate anyone for President, it probably be someone like Camejo who's actually put some work into building the Green party, instead of a media gadfly who had to be talked into running in the first place.

Look at who is saying what on all the 'OMG! It's NADER!' threads -- half of them are just 'day tourists' from FR. They are obviously trying to use the Greens as a wedge issue for the Democrats...once again.

Keep your powder dry -- save it for the real fight. Time is short, and we can't afford to create a lot of internal animosity over this sort of crap.

57. Given Camejo's impressive performance in the recall election
And Schwarzenegger's victory, if Camejo runs, California could suddenly become very interesting. The candidates didn't spend much time or money on California in 2000 because it was assumed that it would go Dem. That might change in 2004.

I'm referring to the FR post where he ticked off all the reasons to be happy: Nader, dead baathists (in Samorra). Guess he ignored the follow-up about the missing dead bodies, civilians (not baathists) killed, etc.

He must have also missed the Challenger, Gray & Christmas report this morning: no real job growth until 2008.

49. Run Roy Moore, Run...
Evil Homos and God Haters want to Sodomize and destroy the nation and put you in prison for believing in Jesus.

Only Roy Moore can take back America.

jumping up and down and claiming God takes care of his own.

62. You people are pathetic
Nader did not announce he's running. He has a domain and a site under construction? So what?

Do a little research and thinking before you react.

66. I dislike Nader and I'll never vote Green...
...but I have to say these Nader threads are distracting us from the real issues.

- Have you noticed that Bush* is NOT being taken to task for 'someone' in his administration betraying a CIA agent? Have you noticed that he has not been made to 'suffer in any way for lying us into the Iraq war? Have you noticed that he's obstructing the investigations into 9-11?

- It's time to focus on the real problems or face the reality of four more years of George*.

69. distracting who?
it's party leaders and politicos who can raise issues and address talking points....when we see ANY of that, maybe Nader will be irrelevant this time

73. It all works on a percentage. Yes, Nader will pull part of our base.
Maybe only 1%, but we can't afford to lose ANY percent of our base. Yes, he hurts us.

This has been a really good week for the freepers.

77. Nader
If Dean is nominated the Nader vote will drop to 1% or below. The Libertarian vote should cancel that out, as I expect it to go higher in 2004 due to this Administration's fiscal orgasms.

OMG .gasp.gasp ..
DU may have our share of ragpipes, but geeziz at least most DUers have something 'intelligent' to say.

.....
LOL! After showering off the DU slime, I can report there's good humor reading their posts on this subject. They're melting down like a steaming pile of dog doo being annihilated by a violent rainstorm. Sorry for the bad visual. It's the best analogy I could think of after my "session" of yard cleanup in melting snow today. Love the dogs but not their leavings.

To: Sofa King

I know right-wingers who voted Nader in 2K. They hated Gore, and viewed Bush as liberal.

......

I would die of boredom if I were a freeper.
