Damage done by Bush crew to Buckingham landscaping
I read an article in the Dallas Morning News - PLANT!!!! Section!! about how a lot of damage was inflicted by the Bushies to historic plants and beds at Buckingham palace - the article said that while it had been printed in the UK, not a mention was given in US papers and media. Apparently hedges and plants that had been planted since Vitorian times had been removed or destroyed during the "royal" visit. Does anyone have a link to an actual article?? Thanks

Editorial: Unruly guests
Culture clash in the queen's backyard

Queen Elizabeth II may be having second thoughts about whether inviting President Bush for an unprecedented three-night sleepover during his visit to London was a good idea. Indeed, she is reported -- by London's Sunday Mirror, quoting a Buckingham Palace "insider"- to be furious about the damage that three U.S. helicopters that landed in the palace grounds did to some of her cherished roses and to plants dating back to Queen Victoria's time.

The Mirror said it wasn't just the choppers that wreaked havoc in the queen's backyard. "Bush's army of clod-hopping security service men trampled more precious and exotic plants," the paper said. And the queen's flock of flamingos, which were moved to an undisclosed "place of safety" for protection, reportedly were traumatized by the experience.

5. yowza - this link is quite explicit
in the displeasure felt by royal and staffers... and the damage done by Bushies. How quaint: go on a "state" visit and chew up the scenery - literally!

6. But, but, Clinton's staff trashed the white house...
or so they say.

What's a couple of ancient plants next to the purported damage done to computer keyboards.
