Boy Punished for Talking About Gay Mom
LAFAYETTE, La. - A 7-year-old boy was scolded and forced to write "I will never use the word `gay' in school again" after he told a classmate about his lesbian mother, the American Civil Liberties Union alleged Monday.

Second-grader Marcus McLaurin was waiting for recess Nov. 11 at Ernest Gaullet Elementary School when a classmate asked about Marcus' mother and father, the ACLU said in a complaint.

Marcus responded he had two mothers because his mother is gay. When the other child asked for explanation, Marcus told him: "Gay is when a girl likes another girl," according to the complaint.

A teacher who heard the remark scolded Marcus, telling him "gay" was a "bad word" and sending him to the principal's office. The following week, Marcus had to come to school early and repeatedly write: "I will never use the word `gay' in school again."

8. gay
And I hope that teacher is stripped of teaching credentials. They are supposed to teach, not let their personal feelings enter into it. This is a disgrace, but this is happening more and more.

3. What if the boy had asked what "heterosexual" meant?
This teacher clearly overstepped his/her bounds and will probably cost the school system a lot of money having to pay damages in the lawsuit.

I have a very aggressive reaction to people who force their bigotry on my child. They would be begging me to stop the onslaught by the time it was over. My daughter will proudly tell you she has two moms and no dad. She also knows that mom is a mean bitch when someone pushes the wrong buttons.

6. Ha!
See if this story gets as much play as all those "political correctness" anecdotes.

9. ugghhh
just when I start having hope. Seriously though...I guess I just wouldn't subject any child of mine to that. I would live in a more accepting area.
