shrub's Baghdad photo-op 'dinner' happened at 5 AM !!!!!
question....shouldn't the press have been honest and called this 'breakfast'?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A17481-2003Nov27_2.html

"little after 5 a.m. Baghdad time, about 10 hours after takeoff from Andrews, the cabin lights were turned off and all the shades were down. Twenty minutes later, we touched down in Baghdad."

sounds about right time-wise, since you gain about 8 hours going to Baghdad and it's a ten hour flight.....

Wag the Turkey
Surprise Thanksgiving Dinner at 6 AM?
http://www.counterpunch.com/madsen11282003.html

"I may be a bit naive, and it has been a while since I served on active duty, but I can't recall ever sitting down to Thanksgiving dinner at 6:00 AM. Air Force One touched down at Baghdad International Airport, under cover of darkness, at 5:20 AM Baghdad time. Bush was on the ground for two and a half hours, his plane departing Baghdad at around 7:50 AM."

1. No surprise Thanksgiving
Please, you guys, isn't this typical of the man? It's all about his comfort...has been since his days in the Nat'l Guard.

4. his comfort but really to "be there" for the viewers back home
--the stooge timed it so he was coming into America's livingrooms just as America was gathering for Thanksgiving.

It was never really for the troops, it was for the voters.

2. ROFLMAO!!!
And some of the attendees were supposedly surprized to see him there.
I wonder if they were expecting Hillary?

:evilfrown:

What an awful shock to the system that must have been!

5. Notice too that he "ate" with a bunch of REMFs
He should have been "dining" with the combat troops.

as as seen there, it should read 5pm Baghdad time, not am. Check the earlier times in the Post's report (takeoff at 11pm EST, 10 hour flight, 8 hour time difference) and you see it's 5pm. Unfortunately, Madsen seems to have based his whole article on this one mistake. A bit embarrassing for him.

8. look at the sunshine coming through the windows.....
Edited on Sat Nov-29-03 10:00 PM by amen1234

in addition, you can figure the time out yourself....

it's fairly clear that shrub left DC in the evening....
going eastbound, you GAIN time...in this case, web link shows that you will gain 8 hours for the timezone as you go toward Baghdad....the trip takes about 10 hours, so just do the math....

time zones....
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

it also makes sense that shrub got back to the pigfarm at about 5 AM on Friday...loses 8 hours on the return trip due to the time zones, and it takes about 12 hours to get back to the pigfarm....

11. I don't think that's sunshine. Those are lights.
From what I've seen it was pretty dark there.

6. So those poor soldiers were pulled from their bunks
to star in a photo-op for the Chickenhawk-in-Chief to use in his campaign?

This is disgusting.

This asshole is just playing army. I believe he thinks this is all a big video game.

There is a special place in hell for George W. Bush.

10. OMG!
If "I" were one of those soldiers, pulled from MY bed to look at THAT SOB at 5 A.M....before my coffee??? OMG.....There's no way in hell I would have put on a happy face.:puke: What an arrogant bastard to think that ANYONE would be happy to see him at 5 A.M.

THEN, they try to portray it as Thanksgiving DINNER??? Hahahahahaha! This looks like it's going to be a repeat of the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, Mission NOT Accomplished. BIG TURKEY!
