NYC celebrates another 9/11-recovery milestone
Starting yesterday (Nov. 23), and getting its first rush-hour shakedown this morning, the Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) trains resumed service to lower Manhattan, via a temporary station built at Ground Zero. The first train into the station on Sunday was composed of the same cars which were on the last emergency-pick-up train to leave the station on 9/11.

Train service in lower Manhattan has finally been restored to what it was before the attack.

3. I rode one of the first R trains
that went through the Cortlandt Street station after the disaster. At that time they were still recovering bodies yards away from the station. The train slowed down -- there were still construction beams holding up some shaky sections of the station. It was an incredibly sad moment. I shared the car with a Hasid, two Russian prostitutes and a sleeping bum.

The other stations still had posters advertising Arnie's film, "Collateral Damage." That was the movie that had to be postponed due to bad timing.

We've been working very hard in NY to recover, and without much help from Bushco. It's sure going to be hard to watch them take credit for our strength and our initiative.
